I'm kind of at a loss and hoping to see if others have gone through this.

Since mid November my 2 1/2 year old boy Binx has had urinary issues.   He started going into the litter box every 5 minutes with just drops of bloody urine coming out.  Took him to the vet right away who put him on Amoxi and took x-rays and blood tests which all were clean and good.     2 weeks later he still was having bloody urine so I brought him to a vet in a bigger city to do ultrasounds.   Nothing came up on the ultrasound, blood test and urine test were fine again.    He was still on the amoxi so I was told to keep him on this and to start giving him Science Diet S/O food.

He was then fine for a week, until  December 20th when the bloody urine came back.   This time I drove 2 hours to an even bigger city as this was the closest emergency vet.   He had a fever and his bladder was inflamed.  They again did blood tests and urine test which came back clean, however when they did an ultrasound they found a mass.   I was told this was most likely a blood clot which would be why there was blood in the urine.   Binx was then put on Clavamox (antibiotic), Gabapentin (pain med), Cerenia (nausea med), and Prazosin (anti spasmatic).

He was fine from the 22nd to the 31st, then he started going to the litter box frequently with bloody urine.   Brought him back to the emergency vet.  Again blood and urine test were fine, he did have a fever again so they put him on Zeniquin (antibiotic), Metacam (anti-inflammatory), cerenia (anti nausea), buprenorphine (pain med), and prazosin (anti spasmatic).

Ultra sounds were done on January 6th as they couldn't do any on the 31st, and the mass (peanut shaped object on the left) in the picture below was gone.

Yet today he started going to the litterbox every 5 minutes with bloody urine.   The vets don't really know what is going on with him, and I have no clue what else to do.

Anyone ever deal with this?

Get a urine culture done - he could have a bacterial infection that is not responding to the antibiotics already prescribed.  It could be he has a bladder stone that the vet missed, and may need to be removed (I'd redo the ultrasound again before any surgery).

Can your vet consult with a feline urologist on your behalf?  He could send that ultrasound film, get a new opinion, and see if the specialist thinks stone vs scar tissue vs...Best to have a specialist opinion before opting for surgery so you know if he may or may not need it.

They haven't been able to do a urine culture as he hasn't had anything in his bladder when I've brought him in. When he does create urine, he urinates right away so they have only been able to do urinalysis. To which they always say -
"UA- SG 1.048. Chem strip - pH 6.5, proteinuria, pyuria,
hematuria. Sediment - pyuria, hematuria, transitional and
squamous epithelial cells (of normal morphology). No bacteruria
or crystalluria."

My vet is thinking I need to go another 6 hours away to an internal specialist , but Binx doesn't travel well so I was hoping to see if anyone has dealt with this & could give options I could ask my vet about first.
