Hello...and happy 2017 to everyone!

My name is Aida and I'm the mother of a super sweet, loving, personable cat named Cricket. I got to know Cricket while I was fostering kittens for the local Humane Society. A terrible person had thrown Cricket and his brothers and sisters into a garbage dumpster! Sadly, Cricket was the only survivor. He came to me when he was only a week or so old and I fed him with a dropper every two hours, 24 hours a day while pulling a full college load of classes! We bonded over the next several weeks and soon I knew I couldn't be parted from him. He has become my very best friend and my savior. I lost my beloved fiancรฉ to a brief and completely unexpected illness in January of 2016. If not for Cricket I don't know what would have become of me?! I was so devastated that I didn't think I could go on. But from the first day I got home from the hospital, Cricket has not left my side. He sleeps with me every night and plants himself in my lap whenever I sit still. I love him more than anything and want him to be healthy & happy. The main reason I joined this forum is to get advice on cat health and care. I'm excited to jump in and begin talking to and learning from other members!

So sorry to hear about your lost but would like to thank you for saving Cricket and finding a companion in him.

You've come to the right place and do ask any questions regarding cats and we hope that you get your questions answered.

Thank you very much, TabbyTom! I just posted under Health asking for diet advice. I guess I should have posted that under Nutrition, darn it! But I have do have other questions in the post as well.

You are welcomed.

Just wait for someone with experience in what your kitty is facing to come along. Sometimes you get an answer fast and sometimes it takes awhile as not everyone who have those experience are logged in wink.gif

There's a thread in Cat Nutrition under Our Feline Companions called 'I have a fat kitty. Now what'? Maybe you like to take a look at it or subscribe to it. The discussions there may help your kitty while you are waiting for your answers.
