My 13 yo cat has a mass on her intestines. I opted not to operate as I was told in April 2016 that the surgery is extensive, would likely cause regular vomiting and diarrhea. In addition is would not add much time to her life. It is now Jan 2017, we had a good 7+ months with bouts of idiopathic cystitis and some vomiting.  Without surgery I don't know what the mass is but have gone with the Vet's belief that is it Leiomyosarcoma.  Has anyone had  cat with this disease?  How did you handle? What was/is the outcome.

Thanks for any info offered

Hmm, Leiomyosarcoma is quite rare in cats.  How was she diagnosed?  Via ultrasound?  Is there any reason why your Vet doesn't think it might not be Lymphoma or something else.

I don't find any threads at all here on TCS mentioning cats with this issue.  Some cats have or have had Lymphoma, or other types of cancer, and some of them have had surgery, and/or Chemo with varying outcomes.

It appears your girl is doing pretty well, considering her diagnosis, yes?  How long did the Vet say she had?  Is she on pain pills?  From the little I could find via google, this is a painful cancer
