Hi the pix above is of 3 of my 6 furbabies, all healthy and happy! I grew up with outdoor/garaged kittys, mom never let them in the house, yet the dogs were allowed in. So when I got my own place I let my kitty stay inside. All she did was shred curtains, furniture n everything else, and sit in the window longing to go out. So when I got to a place where I owned my own home I gave my kitties the best of both worlds, their own room inside the house with a slider door to the outside and a slider door kitty/doggie door! I also completely enclosed the south facing side of my home with a homemade kennel made out of chain link, from roof to ground, incorporated a walk through gate for me to clean the area from the outside. Now my kitties go in and out whenever they want, I am in a suburban/edging on rural area with many carnivorous predators, both winged, 4 legged and 2 legged. All my kitties are happy with this arrangement,they love being able to go in or out at their leasure! I'm doing the same thing to the west side of my home for my 3 small dogs. I'm hoping this helps those out there with the same delete I had. Now my furbabies have their outdoor time without the fear of being hit by a car (speed limit on my road is 55mph!), grabbed by a bird of prey, snapped up by coyotes, cougar, or pet nappers!

Here's his outside romper room under construction.

Two more days and it should be done.  YEA!!!!

That's nice! What are you going to do for a top? I want to build something like that but I can't figure out how to secure the top :/. There are great horned owls and bald eagles in the area so I definitely need a top.

It's basically 32' x 40' with 6 poles inside for ceiling support.   The roof is flat, like a ceiling.  Looks like a huge Pergola with wire stapled to the underside of the pergola rafters/joists.  (Stapling that wire up there is what's killing me....I hurt all over
 )

It got bigger and more elaborate from what you see in this photo.

There is now a small wood shed on the near end of it (covered are with an actual roof).  70% of that covered area is for firewood storage.  30% is for the double door entry area into the enclosure.
And the 32 x 40 area has almost 1/3rd of it slanted roofed as well.
Under this roof would be like the attic in a house.  Except, there are scattered holes in the floor of the attic. This to allow cat to get into this attic area. (sort of an obstacle course of floor holes, call it enrichment maybe).
And a small insulated place (like a doghouse) up there.  Just a very well insulated "cat house" built into the structural attic area.  (I said cat house...hehehehe).

So far, one of the support poles in the middle is dressed out with shelf/ledges for climbing entry into the attic area.
I'll be wrapping another pole with sisal and a perch up high.
More perches on another pole and around the sides. (he LOVES to run/jump full speed from perch to perch to ANYTHING off the ground.  We have no rooms in the house that he can't go all the way around and never touch the floor.  It's hilarious and borderline scary when he's "wound up".

Two of the poles are cedar trees and still have some limbs on them.  Just have to see what he does with those I guess?

TWO MORE DAYS!!!  (this means two full days of work when the weather and my schedule let me).  Hopefully, late next week it'll be cat worthy.  Yea!!!
