My boy is 11lbs & will be 10 months old in two weeks. He still has an adorable "kitten voice" and is very vocal(meows, chortles, yowls, etc). I can't recall when other kittens I've had have gotten their "adult voices;" what about yours?

I have raised many kittens and have not noticed a particular time for a voice change EXCEPT in Siamese, who seem to develop another whole range of sound and volume as they grrow older.  For the most part, my kittens that squeak in a high little voice as babies make the same sound when adults, although perhaps louder.  Some cat families have a certain tone, almost like an accnt.  I have such a family here, and mother, daughters and brothers all have the same annoying and demanding tone to their voices when they want something -- food, water, access to another part of the house, in, out, etc.  I may not know which one it is on the other side of the door, but I DO know it is one of that family.  Since we always get the kittens neutered by the time they are four months old, we don't get to hear what their voices would be like if not neutered, but the older cats who have come in not yet neutered still have squeaky voices when talking to us.  They have different voices when calling females, and then loud siren voices when standing nose to nose and ready to fight another male.

So, in short, I can't tell you IF your kitten's voice will change, much less WHEN it will change.  You will have to see for yourself, or maybe someone else has a different experience.
