My cat Vinny, doesn't cover up his deeds after he.......does his deed.
Why would he be doing that and what can I do to make him "hide his sins"lol.

I tried taking his paws and covering it but, he went back to not covering.

thanx for you help.

Some cats just don't do this. Sometimes it is because the momcat wasn't in the kitten's life long enough to show them the litter pan manners. You can try adding more litter to the box, but taking his paws and covering up the waste, is a waste of time. If you have another cat, the other cat will teach him, but for this, a human is not a good teacher.

Oh no he used to do it. He knows how to cover it up, it's just that he stopped doing it.

I am far from an expert, but maybe someone like hissy can comment if my suggestions are valid.
- Has the litter been completely changed lately? I have noticed that Miikka loves to dig in fresh litter and completely burry her "presents", however if the litter is getting older and smellier then she neglects to cover as well, but still covers.
- How often do you clean the box? Your little boy might not be covering because he may fear that he is uncovering other "presents" that havent been removed from the box.
- Have you tried changing the type of litter? Maybe the kind you are using causes discomfort on his feet...

Just some wild ideas, but maybe they might help.

A friend of mine says her male, who wasn't with Mom long enough doesn't cover, BUT her younger female who was covers her own and HIS> It's kind of interesting. Like he's the dominant male and she is his caretaker?
