Hey all,

I had my vet put the Advantage topical on her 5 days ago. So far so good, until today when I found one on her. It was moving slowly I think because I was able to pluck it out after three tries, it barely moving away.

Is this a sign the Advantage is working, or should I be concerned? I heard the topical takes about 2-8hrs from flea jumping on to completely kill them, so is it normal to see the occasional one on her. Again, it seemed to be moving slowly. She's also been flea dirt free.

Thanks for any advice,

Brad

does anyone know how long after contact with ADVANTAGE, that it takes for fleas hopping on to die? Hoping someone who also uses this product has an answer as the internet so far has been unclear.

I think what you are seeing is a flea that jumped on her and was being almost immediately effected by the Advantage, that's why it was moving slowly.  The 2 - 8 hours is what I read also.  No flea dirt on her is a good sign.  But seeing fleas at all is not so good.  You've obviously still got some in your apartment.  did you read thru that thread i provided in your other thread?  The one that had some additional hints on things to do... soapy water dishes, etc.

Thanks for the feedback.

I am aware they're still around, at least a few. Like I mentioned, I'm still resolving the original infestation. If I've only seen one on her in 5 days, that's a huge improvement from where I was 3 weeks ago (2-4/day). I'm continuing to clean daily, washing, vacuuming, and have had exterminators bomb and lay down IGR spray in my studio over last 5 weeks.

I think it's slowly working. But I'm aware there are still a few to be hatched and killed around my place. Considering it's only been 6 weeks.

Again, thank you for your feedback seriously, it means a lot.
