Claw Regrowth?

Before anyone jumps on the train of bashing me for having a declawed cat. When I adopted him he was already and declawed and neutered. He's 6 years old and honestly such a babe. But we went to the vet yesterday and this lovely little boy apparently had a couple cuts on toes and some fleas. (Got antibiotics and flea treatment already.) We also found out he's having claw regrowth. The vet didn't tell us anything except it shouldn't bother him and that we'll just keep an eye on him. What are bad signs I should look for and the need to know facts about claw regrowth so my baby doesn't end up in pain that is unnecessary ?

If he is having claw regrowth, his declaw was not done properly and that can be a problem.  Here is a good technical article that goes into detail about the procedure and problems that can arise, written by a vet and posted on his practice web site.
