Still nothing :( I'm a little worried because she doesn't seem to have had any more contractions at all but she's not in distress it's like any other day for her should I take her to a vet?

she doesn't want me to stop rubbing her tummy, her boobs are definitely bigger than they were yesterday, not the nipples but I'm guessing the mammary glands? Does that mean her milk has come in?

It sounds like her body is going through normal pre-labor pains and preparations and that her milk is coming in. She will probably have her kittens in the next 24-48 hours. Keep us posted.

I will, but there's nothing else to report so far, last night I thought she was having another contraction and she did a little meow/cry but it only went for 10 seconds and that's it.

There are plenty of vets around me, but my partner doesn't want to take her in because he would rather not spend any money on her. He said if she has to have a cesarean he's just going to put her down. I feel horrible because before we got her we agreed that pets are family she is our baby and whatever we have to spend we will. Now he's changed his mind.

How is ti going?  If she has a pause, and allows belly rubs, do so.  Its a nice massage, and also helps the hormones flowing.

We dont like long active fruitless labors. Cat labors are typically shorter than with humans.

But pauses of different sorts are common.  As long she is OK in the pauses, no visible troubles, do watch but you can wait and see.

Re rushing to a vet - yes its difficult when money are a limit, and the vet perhaps not very experienced obstetrician.  To do a cesaerean isnt THAT difficult, they are usually trained for it.  But to decide when its not necessary - this is the difficulty....

With humans its easier: as soon you are in doubt, you do the cesarean, and both momma and baby are good.

But in cats kittens manage badly a too early delivery, and thus the cesarean, while making moms survival sure, is often high danger for the kittens - if they are premature they are automatically in uphill, unless literally just hours before their natural delivery...   So its a reasone why most complicated birth are a dilemma with cats, even if the owner do has access to a vet, and do affort the vets help.   Yet, its good to have a possibility to at least discuss the situatioon with the vet.

So in a way, I can understand your partner, he doesnt wannts to rush in for a costly treatment when it perhaps even wasnt necessary...

But if he really means what it sounds as,...  -  Im not saying no  more.

Hey guys no real updates (seriously where the heck are these kittens???) just thought I'd ask about her nipples, she's been licking them her whole pregnancy and the last week she's been going crazy, these are the bottom 2 and it looks like she's got a rash around them? Do you think that's from licking them so ferociously?

Yes, they are chapped. You can put Udder Cream on them, or you can use olive oil. You'll want to continue using it on all her nipples while she nurses to prevent infection.

Thank you! I don't have any udder cream or olive oil, I just have cheap vegetable oil, can I use that for tonight and get some better stuff in the morning? It's 10:30pm here and the shops are closed

Yes, vegetable oil works as well. She needs relief. You'll want to reapply frequently.

Sorry I'm super impatient, I've used an all natural vegan friendly moisturiser but she keeps licking it off [emoji]128580[/emoji] I'm reapplying every time I see her do it but it doesnt have a chance to really soak in. Although as soon as I put some on it looked a bit better.

Wonderful! Put her food, water and litter nearby so she doesn't need to go far. Make sure all kittens are latching and nursing well. [emoji]128571[/emoji]
