You must have arms like a pro tennis player, waving wand toys for that kitty all day.
LOL!     Actually, he usually entertains himself with stuffed animals.  He'll play with one for hours by himself.   All you have to do to get him interested is to show him a stuffed toy, then make it disappear (hide it).
He gets that "I could care less" attitude when you wiggle it where he can see it.  Then, as soon as you make it disappear (tuck it behind your back)?  You get tackled!
After that, who needs TV?  Just kick back in the recliner and watch him play.

What state do you live in that you can own a bobcat? I live in NY and they are illegal to privately own here unfortunately. Even Savannah cats are illegal to own here unless they are 5 generations in.

Not legal in some places.....That's probably not just a real bad thing.  I may disagree with some laws, but usually, I fully understand why they are there.

When this opportunity came along, We devised two plans. In advance.  (we had already rehabbed/released a wild bobcat..so, we were familiar with the worst possible attitude scenario).

Plan A:  We have a pet bobcat. He lives in the house and has an enclosure just outside.  When he gets wound up, he gets to go play outside for awhile and burn off some energy.
Plan B: We have a bobcat that we take care of. He can't be released and he lives in a large enclosure out by the barn.

So far, it's been A.
Although, he does push his luck every now and then.

Is the new enclosure finished yet @BassCat  ? I'd love to see some pictures of it.
ONE more day.  (one more day means another full day of working on it, when I get the chance).  Hopefully that will be Wed.
Need to install the doors, Crimp on about a gabillion hog rings, Clean up the construction mess, Little bit of landscaping.   THEN, he can play and I'll get a few pics.

After that, I'll add more perches and "enrichment stuffs" as I can.
Pics in a few days though!

Until then, here's "work in progress"  (this was taken a few weeks ago. As of right now, it's pretty much finished except for the doors, cleaning up the mess, and some landscaping.
The metal roof in the front is 16ft wide and 8ft deep.  About 12ft of that, far left, is a "woodshed".  Should hold 5 ricks of firewood and keep it dry.  The remaining 4ft, far right/closest/to the left of that birdfeeder, is a double door entry into the enclosure.
The un-finished roof section (looks like an attic area) is inside the enclosure.  22ft wide, 12ft deep.   It is now roofed and provides cover from the weather.  The attic area has a sporadic floor.  Floor here and there, holes here and there.  (sort of enrichment stuff I guess?).   There is also a built in, insulated, box in the attic.  His "way up high" house.  Insulation "might" help keep it warm, but, it's mostly to cut down on the noise inside that house that rain makes when falling on a tin roof.
All of that is now finished with perches, ledges, shelves, and walkways so that he can easily get up there.   There are also sections of cedar trees in the attic placed upright and lengthways (rustic enrichment stuff again).
The enclosure has a water hydrant, and electric outlets.  All electric outlets are sealed, all wiring is enclosed in conduit.   Installing lighting will be done in a few weeks, weather providing.
These pics are work in progress.  Finished pics soon.

Wow, that's great. He's going to love that. The idea of giving him a loft he can get into is a good one. My cats love having something they can use as a look-out. Is this going to be his permanent home or will he still be coming into your house?

that's amazing and HUGE!! Where do you live?? Wouldn't the cat be happier just running around the trees than enclosed in there even though it's a huge, awesome space?!! Seems mad to have spent so much money and used so many materials to build something so huge when you already have such a natural beautiful built in habitat?! :)

He's not a regular domestic cat @sunshineclare  That's why he can't be allowed to roam around outside. Take a look at the picture in post 6. This cat is special...........
