So, a few months ago, we got a 9 year old all black boy named Zoey. I had been looking at his paws and his front left paw, the middle toe has two little beans. One on top of the other, but the nail isn't really ontop of either of the toes. I tried to spread it out to get a better look but he pulled away. I don't know if this is something we should worry about. Any ideas? He needs his claws trimmed and I don't want to hurt him :(

You might want to get him to the vet and have it checked out just to make sure that everything is okay with that nail and digit(s). It sounds like he's a little polydactyl, meaning many-toed.

I used to have a six-toed cat.  Polydactile cats can live perfectly healthy lives, as did my cat but I agree with @stephanietxt that you should take your cat to be checked by a vet.

With all regards,

Geoffrey
