I'm worried about my little 15 year old cat.

My little Lucy, a15 year old kittie has recently been diagnosed with early stages of kidney disease.  I have given her canned food made for cats with her disease, but she instead wants to eat the food of her 2 other siblings.  I decided that she should eat what she wants to eat and enjoy what is left of her life.   I am now feeding all my cats food made for seniors.

At this time she has an extended bladder or stomach.  It seems like a balloon and could pop any time.  She also has erratic breathing.  It is unusually hard.  She takes a quick hard breath in and then a quick release of air.  I will probably take her to see the Vet tomorrow, but I am reluctant to spend a lot on treatment because I know that the inevitable will come.  The Vet predicted maybe 2 more years.  I guess i'm struggling with having her euthanized at this stage of her disease.  I do not believe that she is comfortable.  She has been more loving, but then goes to a place in the house to lie down in isolation.  Does anyone have any advice for me and my little sweetheart, Lucy?

Generally with cats with kidney disease the best treatment is sub q fluids....

I'm sorry that I don't have much advice, but you certainly have my sympathy. I'm so sorry that your sweetheart is sick.

Thank you.  I will learn more about Sub Q's and how I can administer them.
