He doesn't pee at all on his own since I started expressing him. The vet said she thought the dribbles were just the overflow that had to go somewhere more than anything. He poops on his own, but when I go to squeeze he poops too. The poop is more of a he can do it, but then I also don't know if he knows it's still doing it. I started last night trying to force catbox him after he eats (which he does and gets some out). Everything is weird bcz he needs to poop, pee, and eat all in a weird rotation that I can't get right bcz if I squeeze after he eats I think he resists more (full belly), if I do it before eating he fills up really quick (I water his food down), the poop needs to be done both before and after. It's kinda crazy and I haven't fully figured out the right order yet.

I think expressing him before he eats will be less uncomfortable for him. Do you really need to water down his wet food? I do understand you're in a learning curve with this. It can't be easy.

I water it down to make sure he gets plenty of extra water and bcz he eats it easier when it's both warm and is less clumpy. I also looked up the med the vet gave him, and all I found is it being a laxative. I am calling on Monday cause if that's true then I'm not giving it to him. The risks r far greater than that of the miralax concoction I've made for him. Perhaps they misunderstood the idea was to get him to pee not to poop?

It sounds like they may have misunderstood. Calling to speak to the vet on Monday about it and making it clear that you want to try the pee drug (bethanechol chloride) is a good idea.

If Bob eats better with it watered down right now that's fine! I think this whole journey with him will be one of learning, especially while he's growing and changing. Hopefully, a good pattern of what works best will emerge over time. I admire your patience with the little guy!

Yes, I'm definitely calling on Monday as the poop is under control (or as much as I feel it can be for now). I might try and actually go in there to talk with them as I never actually get to speak with the vet on the phone. It certainly is a journey! I think once I calm down and get a grip on my nervous freak outs it's not so hard, just the initial shock of it is terrible. I am thinking of going to this cat rescue today (I emailed them but it takes forever for a response). They have all sorts of bizarre cases and have a manx syndrome cat too, and maybe they have some insight for me. I wondered how when I went in they cared for some of them, and now I realize once u get a routine it's not nearly as bad! Although if I would've known then what I know now, the one with the paralyzed back legs who was following me around would've been at my house already! I tip my hat to those people as they have way to many special cases for me to even begin to handle.

that's Pete passed out on my shoulder and face lol.
O, so I know what the deal is with Bob and the poop I believe. His sphincter doesn't listen. I watched him go in to poop, so I took off the diaper. Well, he did it alright, and it went with him (until I grabbed him). The part that's supposed to stop the poop from coming either doesn't work, or doesn't know how to listen, just the same as it can't make it get off of him. Does anyone know the name for that? Not sure what to look for.

All I have to say is has it been 8 weeks yet?! Moo-moo is making me nuts with her whole mood swing thing. Mama kitty and merlin just don't get it, and the dogs have no idea whether to be nice or to cower down. She's overly clingy to me (I can deal with that) so nobody else gets to have love when they come up. She attacks the babies when she's in a real mood and growling (they kinda deserve it for attacking her I suppose). I think I'm gonna try and take her next Saturday if I have the money cause they will be 8 weeks on Sunday. I also posted the babies on rescue me just in case some ppl don't come through (really can't keep them here long or I'll get even more attached). I want everyone to have a home by the day they get neutered. I'm gonna hate to let em go, but I'll sure be happy to have em gone! All the leg attacks r cute, but they certainly don't help their cause! O, should I ask about a supplement for bob? With giving him all the laxatives I want to be sure he gets enough out of it. He has I would call it pasty poop. (Pretty sure that's what the other ones have too though) not diareah by any means, so idk if I should even mention it to the vet at all. I just want to make sure he doesn't fall behind, and soon he won't have brothers to compare him to.

They should all have formed logs of poop, not pasty, other than Bob, so you definitely need to mention it to the vet.

Mom can be spayed any day now.

When rehoming to strangers, make sure you go see the home and that they can afford the pet, get phone numbers, and make sure they give the kitten back to you if it doesn't work out.

Yeah ill definitely be mentioning it to the vet, and I'll try and catch one in the act and see what it's like. I haven't been actually watching so I should prolly check on it a little better.
I've got a plan to make an application for them and I want references and they have to do an in home meeting with them first. I'm asking a $50 fee and I have to see they have litter box ect first. I think I'm going to microchip them all and just not say anything for in case they try and take them somewhere or they get out and caught by someone. I hope they can all go to homes I asked about before of ppl I know though. My brother couldn't meet them this weekend (miscommunication between him and my mom) so he's supposed to look at them this week prolly and I'm sure my niece is going to take one of them at least.

The kittens r 7 weeks old today actually, so she can be done now? Heck I would've taken her yesterday if I would've known that! She still nurses them some, when she gets home it won't mess with them will it? Like from the anesthesia? Can't have the babies getting hurt. They rarely do suck anymore though, maybe twice a day maximum, and she's definitely producing way less milk now. She beat the tar outta my dog awhile ago because they were all getting treats and I think when they came up they scared her. Felt bad for papa, but she hurt his pride more than anything (he's a 60 lb pit bull). She won't always be overly protective over Bob since they will be together will she? I would presume not however we all know I have no idea about this baby stuff lol.
Bob is quite adorable isn't he! Now I'm off to find the diaper he lost earlier ugh

My cat came home from her spay and was right back nursing. It's up to mama kitty if she feels like nursing or not right away. And no, mama won't be overly protective forever. That usually lasts about 4 months or so. How long are you keeping the kittens before rehoming? 12 weeks is best.
