Little Bit came back to eat his supper last night! He had disappeared for 24 hours, and with a stray/feral, you never know, you just wait and worry. But he is BACK!
Sundar (strictly indoor and enclosure boy) got out without my noticing (not good) He sat on the outdoor table looking in the window and meowed at me till I saw him and let him back in. (very good and so sweet).
Two good things yesterday. The eye test I went for on Tuesday came back normal and when I brought Abby to the vet for her shot I found out that since her blood work went well we get to cut back to every three weeks and then once a month.
Suzanne's birthday present arrived! She loves my blue willow coffee mugs, and says they are perfect for a cup of tea, so I ordered a pair for her! I LOVE it when I can find and afford the perfect gift for someone! I have more fun giving presents!
The maintenance man is here installing my new fridge! It's 3 cubic feet larger than the old one, which means I'll have room for ice cube trays in the freezer!
Some times it's the small things. The truck had so much built up salt and grime on it from multiple snow storms. I brought it to a car wash and within five minutes it looked like a brand new truck.
For one, I sold another item (junk my dad has hoarded over the years). I now have a total of $218 which is going toward my new dog's adoption and supplies.
I also dropped Hazel off at the vet today. We said our goodbyes. Her new foster mommy, Pat, will be picking her up tomorrow from the vet. They're looking after her, making sure she's in good health. Hazel will be rehabilitated and put up for adoption. I couldn't be happier. My mission is complete. I remember last May when I saw her and her two kittens outside, I knew I had to save them. Despite almost everyone telling me I should just throw her back outside, I'm glad I kept fighting. That's 3 cats off the street and my heart is filled with so much joy. No more suffering for Hazel. From now on, she'll only know peace and love like she should have the first time before someone abandoned her. I wish her well in her new life. But it's so bitter sweet because Felix has been searching for her. Hazel is his sister after all and they did bond well in the 2 months she was inside with us. I hope Felix will understand it was for the best.
This is a small good, but I take my good where I find it. Yesterday evening, Hekitty was sitting on one side of the glass back door, and Little Bit (the stray I'm TRYING to get to the point that he can be trapped and homed) was on the other with both of them totally relaxed and warbling at each other. Some days we get that, some days we get hissing and spitting. Hoping for another good session this afternoon!
Last night I was sitting out on the front porch when Little Bit came up within 10 feet of me. He hunkered down and sat there while I talked with him for a good ten minutes. Although he tensed when I stood up to go in, he didn't take off like he usually does! We progress!
DH and I went to Starbucks to take advantage of their Buy One Get One Free Macchiato, they made a mistake so I got an extra drink - three for the price of one. It's the little things that make my day, lol,
My mother passed the eye test for her driver's license! She is in-between cataract surgery and we weren't sure if she would. The eye doctor had told her that if they flunked her due to her eyes, he could write a letter saying her vision is fine for driving as it apparently is well within the range. Such a relief that we don't' have to go through that.
