63 degrees today, absolutely beautiful! My kitties needed it, they are all getting on each other's nerves, took them all out into the yard for some run time.

I had the fnal review for last year's performance. I changed departments early last year so most of the year was learning the new job. My supevisor had only positive things to say about my performance
And for once I did not cry during the discussion
My previous supervisor always made me cry because he basically made me feel like a failure at everything and ashamed for being a quiet introvert.

congratulations!!! I know what you mean about crying during a yearly evaluation. I did that my entire life.. always felt like a failure...

so glad You got some praise!! You deserve it!!

I had my first physical therapy appointment today for my shoulder injury.  She gave me some exercises homework and they feel good.  I am so glad to have the help! Someone watching over me.
Shoulder injuries are so difficult to deal with. I had to go through PT twice for my shoulder... once after the break and again after the surgery... I think I have them down pat...

Make sure you do the home exercises faithfully, every day---unless you have a PT appointment.. it makes such a difference in strength and range of motion....I regained more range of motion than anyone thought I would. The range of motion is not 100% back to normal, but a lot more than anyone would have guessed.. I still have pain and weakness but that is another story...

Thanks! My previous supervisor never gave me feedback throughout the year so when it came to the end of year review  all he could talk about was everything I didn't do right all year long and how I was too quiet which was a Big Problem. Being quiet and a introvert is just part of who I am and needs to be respected, not have it used against me on a performance review. The tone of voice he used during the reviews was just so condenscending. I pick up on tone of voice and body language and if it's negative, I cry. I can handle feedback, it just has to be done in a more postiive tone of voice and body language and the person has to be mindful and careful of their choice of words and just know their audience. When I was recently declined a formal interview for an internal job position, the hiring manger was really nice about it and said that while I was qualified other candidates were better qualified and he invited me to do a job shadowing with his team to learn the skills I would need for a future position. I was disappointed but I didn't cry and I didn't feel talked down to.

I'm getting to leave an hour early today...even though it is to take care of something...an hour early on Friday is something for me to look forward to!  Appreciate the little things I guess!

I didn't have to go into work today!
The phone rang at 7:30 this morning and I thought, oh no, they changed their mind but it was my daughter - phew.

My husband was able to work from home today. Huge relief with the amount of snow we are supposed to get. His commute is normally a little over an hour and I was starting to look into nearby hotels for him.
