only a foot??? we are in the 12-18 inches zone.. along the coast.. it will be very windy...

Same here. Totally sucks having to stay home all day tomorrow.

7-8 inches so far and it's still snowing. Nothing what the northeast is going to get, I know. 31 degrees F and the wind is really gusting. I am not walking in this crap!

Rick brought me into work this morning. We got out our road and turned to go down the hill....there's a bad accident on the hill and traffic is backed-up. So we backtracked and went down another way to the highway. That seemed to be OK and we got to the traffic light. Southbound on the highway is shut down; we think it's probably because a truck jack-knifed on the hill; that's what happened the other night when we got hit with that squall at quitting time and that was ugly. Thankfully, we were headed north and the northbound lanes are moving. Barely, but traffic is moving. We passed a truck that was stopped on another hill; he couldn't get the speed he needed to get up the whole way and the truck slid.

Rick ended up in the passing lane most of the way into town.....people are driving 20 mph; you know, you can actually drive too slow, and that's just as bad as driving too fast. I don't like driving in snow either and I'll avoid it whenever I can. But if I have to drive, I will at least drive sensibly. There was a man driving a huge 4WD truck about 20 mph on the highway; it was ridiculous. A huge back-up, until people finally started to pass him.

Got into work for me and it took Rick another 35-40 to get to his work. That road is a washboard. Accidents all over the place. I think Dear Richard has nerves of steel.

Where we live, there are several ways to get into town, but they all involve hills. Not little hills. Hills.

I think we're on the downside of the storm now. Those of you in New England? Stay safe!!

@Winchester   I am hoping you guys have a 4 wheel drive or an all wheel drive!  When it snows here or we have an ice storm, that's the only thing that gets any of us around---either that or a 4 wheeler.  Thankfully we don't have it often, since our DOT doesn't have resources to clear the roads.

Here today, gone tomorrow----we were above 70 yesterday and back down to 30 this morning on my drive in.  Schools are closing around us because of the flu, strep throat, and stomach viruses.  This back and forth weather is just letting all the viruses grow and spread like crazy!

Yup, the snow began just as I was waking up... it is ind snow right now, but I can really hear the wind rattling things.. 

Have not heard the latest, but I just put TV on-- still 12-18 inches....gusts around 45 mph...

This is all that will be on TV today, except for the cable channels...

I think I will have to turn the heat up a bit.. this building is not insulated.. sigh...

It depends what station I watch. Most are now saying 15 for us, but I've also seen 12-18. Its raining now and the snow is just starting to mix in, so our totals may be lower.

yea, we have a mix also... but the roofs are white..

13 degrees when I woke up this morning with wind chill it's -1, supposed to get up to 23 degrees, at least the sun is out which helps

Was awakened by a thunderstorm this morning at 6:45.
Got up to feed Sammy a few mins after that, because she was bugging me so much. I usually don't feed her until 7:00, but will stretch it as long as she will let me. It was close enough, so got up. I actually heard sleet on the airconditioner!
All clear by 9:00, & now it's 56 & sunny! ....Crazy weather!

We missed the worst of it.  We just got a covering of snow and it's in the twenties today and teens tonight.  Supposed  to warm up tomorrow and back in the 50's over the weekend.  

It's finished and the sun is shining. Bright and very cold outside with the wind. Thinking about 8 inches total.

Right now, snowing very heavily,mostly horizontally, very windy!  21F.  I am in Northeast United States.  Cars seem to be passing ok on my street, but they told everyone to stay home.  Will be a lot of shoveling!

Boy you really got a lot of snow. It was 74 here yesterday and today it is 42 and all we got were snow fluries this morning.

Near the beach.. very windy, lithe snow coming down fast.. fine snow...not much accumulation...as of yet.. the wind is very bad..
