A group of us started posting and supporting each other in our weight loss journey in June of 2013. Not everyone stuck it out, but some of us did and there were ups and down, but weight was lost. I'm one of the ones that fell off the wagon. Going to try to do better this year.

It's 2017 and time for a new thread and new goals and hopefully more people joining in. :)

Weekly weigh-ins. We weigh in on Mondays. You would post how much you have gained or lost from the previous week. No, need to post your actual weight, because who really feels like doing that? :lol3:

We'd also like to share tips, ideas, recipes, etc. There are soooooo many different diets and theories out there and what works for one may not work for another. We'd like to know what is or isn't working for you.

If you want to just be part of the weigh-in, that's fine, but if you aren't serious about this, then this isn't the thread for you. Sure, everyone has off days and falls off the wagon, but if all you are posting are excuses, you will get called out. :) Some days, particularly lately, I need to get called out.:lol3: Of course if you are happy with your weight and just want to cheer us on, c'mon in! :lol3: We'll take all the support we can get. :D

So who is in? All are welcome and can join in at any point during the year.

Measuring today is a great idea.  I wonder where I put the binder with the last measurements I took?  Why can't losing weight be that simple (and quick!)

I'm posting my weight today here so I can not lose it!  (the number, not the weight.) 150.8 lbs.

Yes, I truly want to start over, I am 140 pounds, my goal is to get down to 125 pounds. Tomorrow starts my clean diet... Good luck everyone. Let's support each other in 2017.

I'm joining again. I ended up losing 80 lbs from 2014 to mid 2015, have put back every single one from mid 2015 to now. I am going back to my IRL weight loss group starting tomorrow. I am considering having weight loss surgery in 2018 (have not decided) so I will use this time to build good habits again, mostly cooking at home and counting calories, while I talk to insurance and make the decision. Hopefully we will have a great group again this year!!!

Count me in. I have a doctor appt tomorrow morning, so will count that as my official weigh-in (I gained during November and December). But I'm starting in today at counting calories and such again. The only thing different this year is that I'm also including protein count (to satisfy my son....and my hair!).

Today is the first day of the rest of your life. MAKE IT COUNT!

I lost the weight in 2016 and am trying to still exercise and maintain my weight.

Hubby gained 2 pound during the holiday and I think he did well. We are still walking the two miles every day and now he will be watching what he eats more strictly and trying to get his weight under 200 pounds . Right now he is down from 240 a year ago at Christmas to 204 now. He will make it.

Got some work cut out. at 206lbs and I look at it this way=money can't buy muscles and that's where I have gone as far as my goals. The number may look large-but I have stayed steady at this weight for 3 months. Which has been miraculous. I was gaining 5-10 lbs a month despite heavy workouts and cutting calories. I still think the thyroid has slowed down so I just accepted that I am going to be part of the larger figure women but I still determined to do my 2 hour workouts 4 to 5 times a week. And of course try to have some self control.

the biggest pit is hunger all the time-I have increased fats and it helps=maybe that's why I haven't gained more. Instead of high protein-I have been opting for high fats with good mix of carb/proteins. The protein itself doesn't keep me full. So I eat pan fried eggs with olive oils and noodles with sauce/oils meats, I also going back to eating more vegetables. Jon doesn't like them at all but I started making them in omelets and soups=he leaves them for me but at least I am trying to get us healthier. I told him since food is so expensive then I am going to utilize beans in our meals instead of meats. He says he doesn't care=hahahaha yeah he is fussy. Doesn't like large kidney beans..Well This month I am going to aim for salads for supper for 4 nights a week. And see how it goes.

Got to go grocery shopping for veggies=the ones I bought 2 weeks ago probably ready for the compost pile

we have dined too much on sugary snacks...no more! We bought a few bags of candy and I have hidden them around the house to keep him out of the stash but he found it the other night :p  I told him he get's fussy when he doesn't have chocolate.

oh and If I eat at 4pmish then workout=I usually only need a light salad for dinner which means no more night snacks. Let's hope I can keep trying new recipes and get him to start cooking for a change. The biggest obstacle is not my diet=it's his fussy needs! And gonna work on making him conform or starve!

I went to my TOPS group meeting last night and got an official weight. I am still 17 pounds down from where I started in June 2014. It's not much, but considering I was adding about 15 lbs a year for five years prior to that, it's not awful. It's certainly better than if I had done nothing to lose weight and ended up being 37.5 lbs heavier than June 2014! So we can call the differential about 55 pounds - where I would be now if I had done nothing. That makes me feel a little better.

A small milestone - I've been logging my food in MFP every day for a week.

Hey all I am so excited to be back with the New Year. The 2016 thread was a huge support for me and I lost 102 pounds last year. Unfortunately I gained a bit back during the holidays. I just couldn't get my mojo back after the surgery and then all the treats of the holidays I went wild. I got back to 200 pounds. Monday I weighed in at 197.6. So far I have done really well this week. I am staying under on calories and I am working out.

I am so excited because I got a gym membership. I have got to go three times this week. I am learning the weight machines. I also am scheduled for a training session tomorrow, but with the snow the chances of school are slim so I will have to reschedule

So awesome you are back under 200, @Louann Jude!!

How has everyone's week been going?

Mine has been fairly decent. Not necessarily the best food choices, but have stayed under calories just about every day, and sometimes significantly under. Just finished up some Brunswick stew for lunch!

Congratulations Winchester Winchester . That is great news. I wasn't able to walk any at all last week. I moved wrong on Monday and hurt my back. It took the rest of the week pampering it to get beyond the stiffness. It is much better and I hope we can get out there and do it today. Hubby walked three days alone last week and he is ready to go this morning.

Down 4.6 pounds this week. I got five days of exercise last week, three at the gym.

Saturday was a big day for us. We welcomed a little 5 lb 6 oz baby girl into our family. I am so excited. I got to see her a few minutes Saturday I am waiting til she is a little older before I beg my niece to let me keep her a few hours.

My weight loss group was canceled due to the snow, so I'll have to update with my weight loss next Monday instead. Well done to all who had a loss this week!

Hi, I'm new to this site and forum but I am keen to get involved with this. I need someone to hold me accountable for my actions.

I, like many, overindulged over christmas and am struggling to shed the extra kilos. I have lost confidence and I really want it back. I tried cutting out sugar and did so for 10 days but I caved and ate caramel slice. I have such a sweet tooth and I really need to break the sugar addiction. I am also a stress eater and have high anxiety so I often turn to food. AND I eat big portions. So I am gonna try and work on those things.

Wish me luck! I look forward to joining you all. Sounds like you are all doing a great job so far :)
