Babies are meant to cook for a long time, but too long is also dangerous. Somewhere around 42 weeks the placenta gives up the ghost and starts to degrade, which lowers both the nutrients and the oxygen the baby is getting. Not good for continued growth. Plus the longer pregnancy goes on, the more likely the baby is going to poop in the womb, even without castor oil. I think my sister did, I just remember that when I saw her only hours after birth they had a diaper under her that they were constantly swapping out because meconium (sp?) was coming out almost constantly. I didn't know until near the end of my own pregnancy that newborns pooping out black tar immediately after birth wasn't normal. But if she ate it or inhaled it, it did no damage to her.

With the car, cold can sap a battery just enough. If you turned the key and it went click, click, click, the battery is completely drained. If it tried but just didn't catch, you've got a partial charge, and that could easily be a nasty cold spell. Maybe look and see if there are safe cheap ways to warm the engine first, or keep the engine warm overnight?

Right now I'm having some sort of nasty allergic reaction. I have a rash that covers only part of me, my left side, up to near the bra and down just below the panty line, from belly button to about halfway towards my spine. Part of the rash also has hives. I can't think of what caused it. I don't know if it was there before I showered, but definitely there after I showered, and I think it got bigger as the day went on, not much bigger though. It burns and it itches, but I can't scratch it as it is super sensitive to pain. My day was to get up, throw on yesterday's clothes and run to Target for groceries while I had access to the car. Came home and ate two bananas (I've never had a problem) and a bowl of generic honey nut cheerios (never had a problem with the brand or with the milk in it). Took my morning medicine before my shower, never had any issues with those. Showered and used my normal dandruff (salicylic acid) shampoo as both shampoo and body wash, didn't scrub that part of me that much since it doesn't have eczema. The towel was new but had been washed at least twice since I purchased it, same laundry detergent as usual, generic All free and clear. I was scratching like crazy after the shower, not unusual, water makes eczema itch, but I realized my side didn't have eczema and shouldn't be itching and noticed the rash. From the timing, the medicine was the most likely trigger, but then why am I not having a systemic reaction? Why just a 9ish inch by 12ish inch area?

And the local Patient First sucks. I went there, because scary allergic reaction, and they told me that before I could be seen I would have to pay $260 from a previous visit. Whoa, what? Insurance had denied a claim. So I never saw a doctor tonight. I can't afford to pay that all upfront, which had to be done before I could be seen. Came home and did what I should have done there, called my insurance company, asked the representative why. She put me on hold for 3 minutes, came back on and said the service was covered and they'd be paid in 7 days. If I could manage that with "Why didn't you pay?" and being on hold for 3 minutes, then why didn't Patient First do that back in August when the claim was first denied?

And of course my husband is not home and won't be home until tomorrow night. And I had to leave my bike at Target since I was going straight to urgent care via Uber. So no transportation. Uber is a cost I can handle for emergencies, but not every day stuff. The nearest hospital is about 10 miles away, in another city, so no go even with Uber.

I hope it wasn't the medicine. I have to take the same dose of lithium and triple the dose of Lamictal at bed. And Seroquel means I'm going to be out cold, even if the allergic reaction gets worse, and skipping the Seroquel is not an option (as I don't want to be wired for nearly 40 hours with all sorts of physical reactions to both the lack of sleep and the lack of good brain chemicals).

Darn it, I just thought of another potential allergen. I drank a few glasses of tea before my shower. And I drank one while at the computer typing the previous post. If it's the tea, which is the most likely thing, I just gave myself another big dose of the trigger.

Have you had that kind of tea before?
I can't believe they wouldn't see you. My insurance was late paying one of my bills. While I was there, they mentioned it and I told them I'd call and my appointment went as usual.
I can't think of any way of keeping the battery warm overnight. We just have street parking. Unless we took the battery out and brought it inside every night.

Some moron is setting off fireworks already. Not only is it only 9pm, but fireworks are illegal in Arizona...for a reason. Most the people in this area weren't around during the R/C fire and think it will never happen to them. Idiots!!. I just want to go over there and hit them in the head and ask "what are you thinking, you moron".
We should have feet of snow by now. We've had none, not even rain.

Dead quiet here and it's 9:30. Planning on staying up for the first time in several years to see if the new year is really going to come. Cold outside, low 40s (California wimp temp), thick fog, heater is running. Just got my electric bill, everything is electric here and almost fainted at $157.00! Never been that high. Will have to go back to space heater instead of using heat pump.
Painted my nails lilac, drinking rum with Sprite Zero, stuffing my face with chocolate and assorted nuts, attempting to watch a "Thin Man" marathon on TCM but can't get into it. Eating snacks that I will feel sorry about tomorrow. Pussycats ignoring me, even Chamouti :gingercat2:sitting on top of the tree instead of next to me, two cats in their separate beds :blackcat2::creampersian:and the Persian:kitty: curled up on the big chair, they've all deserted me, darn!
Somebody in the neighborhood is re-homing a 2 year old really cute Snowshoe because they are gone from home a lot and the cat is not doing well because of that, I am tempted but if nobody else wants it I'll take it. They put it on NextDoor. They tried a companion cat but that apparently did not work out (don't know what happened to the companion cat, there might be more to the story). Having somebody come in twice a day didn't work either, neither did taking it to a cat sitting outfit. I feel so sorry for this poor cat, I'm home all day and have more than enough time to love and spoil another cat. Yes, I know I found a home for Patrick but he was a foster to begin with, he was never MY cat, that was different. This Snowshoe would be MY cat. Maybe somebody else will adopt her but if not------------:dunno::agree:.
