I feel much better this morning!
My eyes still bother me and I'm still cold and I'm still coughing and my back still hurts, but overall, I feel so much better this morning! Thanks for the idea about the ginger tea with honey. I do have some ginger root and could slice a knob or two off see what I can do with it. Not so much a honey person, though. Thanks! Rick's been sleeping in the living room on the couch simply to stay away from me; he's turned the corner and doesn't want any of this crap back. Ever. He heard me coughing last night and thought I was coughing up a lung. Or a kidney, he wasn't sure which.

And yesterday? We had light snow all afternoon, there was no reason to go out (we decided that errands could wait for another time and any vacuuming could wait, too). He spent the day on the couch playing catch-up on his Sports Illustrateds and I took my Nook and my iPad and spent the day reading in bed. I killed the battery in my iPad, plugged it in, then went with my Nook, killed that, and went back to my iPad. Other than making the priazzo for dinner, we were down for the day. It probably did us both some good.

So today.....
  • Breakfast for the kids, 3 miles on the treadmill (I finally! got beyond that 1-1/2 mile barrier that's been smacking me in the face for the last three days and then I just kept going and I didn't hang on to the rails either), emptied the dishwasher, scooped the boxes
  • I have to do a load of jeans this morning or Dear Richard won't have any jeans for work this week
  • Manicure tonight as my poor nails look horrible
Not sure about anything else. I have off work Monday for MLK Day, so will probably try to rip through the house a bit tomorrow when Rick's not home.

I'm off work today and Dear Richard just left for work. I've got the whole day to myself. Which means.....cleaning. We really slacked-off this past weekend and I need to straighten things out a bit.
  • Breakfast, emptied the dishwasher, 3.5 miles on the treadmill, stripped the bed down, scooped the boxes
  • On my second load of laundry
  • A good vacuuming, dusting, etc throughout the house. Wipe down the kitchen and the bathroom
  • Making a big pot of chili for the freezer this afternoon, making a big pot of chicken soup also for the freezer
  • Grab a few groceries tonight

  1. Comcast was out for a few hours this morning. Super-annoying considering they have just increased the rates. Was missing my early morning iPad classical music when i suddenly remembered we do own a radio.
  2. Met a couple of girlfriends on my morning walk so caught up with them.
  3. Found that I have a Dunkin Donuts coupon today for a medium coffee for only 87 cents because the Patriots won their latest game so ran out to redeem it because it was valid for today only. See that I have a new coupon for my birthday.

Thanks! I am doing much better! Hope your day is good, too.

So back to work this morning. We were a little worried as we're under a freezing rain advisory. PennDOT trucks did go back and forth our road this morning (I saw the truck from the basement window where my treadmill is), but so far, we're fine and I made it into work with no trouble. It's not doing anything and I think the advisory expires at 10:00 this morning.
  • Breakfast, 3.25 miles on the treadmill, made the bed, grabbed my shower
  • Scoop the boxes tonight
And I think that's it today. I spent yesterday cleaning and wiping and vacuuming. There's really not much of anything to do tonight. I think that, after dinner and clean-up tonight, I'll take my Nook and the girls and go to bed early.

Already went to the little grocery store and the chain supermarket for ingredients to make a "pull out from freezer and reheat when I'm too lazy to cook" dinner. I had to go to two different stores because the supermarket doesn't sell loose garlic and shallots. All I need is one of each, not a whole bag. I'm not even going to use the entire garlic bulb but Mom can always use what's left.

I have to make more HT with Alnutrin for the cats. They're getting rabbit this time. The store I get HT from might not continue offering the products
The owner said that most customers are now buying Blue Ridge. I can't use Blue Ridge because Emma gets acne from eating it (I have weird cats).

I really need to vaccuum. Lots of dusty bunnies and litter everywhere

Happy Hump Day for the workers in the crowd!
  • Breakfast, 3.25 miles on the treadmill, made the bed, grabbed my shower
  • I'm leaving around 10:00 or so this morning to go out to do a site inspection on a poultry barn, take pictures, some measurements, check the grass, all that good stuff. It should take me a little over an hour. I need to get gas, too, or I won't be going anywhere.
  • Trash night tonight (I don't think I need to do any laundry tonight; I think it can wait until Thursday night)
That's pretty much it.

I have been working a bit each day, trying to organize things for taxes.
I have a few pieces of clothing that need to be ironed. I am trying to keep it caught up so I won't have it to do all day long.
I need to pick up a few things at the store.

Have a great day everyone.

Do people still iron? :)

Absolutely. My husband has long sleeve dress shirts that have to be ironed. I don't put a lot of my nicest clothes in the dryer because they last longer. Also drying shrinks things that are 100% cotton and I wear a lot of things that are.

  1. Faced a fear today & went to church at 7 a.m. for 30 mins to say the Rosary Prayer with other members of the congregation. Was worried since I am not familiar with all the prayers. But nobody cared; I will print them before next Wednesday & will eventually memorize them. It's a nice thing to do first thing in the a.m.
  2. I needed a container for my rosary beads and, strangely enough, found a little blue woolen drawstring bag during my daily walk. It was on the sidewalk so I took it home. Perfect for the beads.
  3. Tomorrow is Food Pantry day at the cathedral. I do this every Thursday now from 9-12. I'm not so much packing foodstuffs into bags but rather helping in the office. Don't care what I do so long as they keep me busy for 3 hours.

Nothing worse than ironing men's shirts. Can't he do them himself or send them out?

I've started to take some of my nicer blouses and tops to our local dry cleaner, just for cleaning and pressing. It's a lot easier than trying to iron them myself. Same with some of Rick's nicer shirts. It's worth it, just to not have to deal with them because I am not a good ironer and I don't have the patience anymore to iron around shoulders and shirt cuffs.
  • Breakfast, 3.5 miles on the treadmill, made the bed, grabbed my shower
  • Going to do laundry tonight. There's not much, but I can usually find enough for a couple smallish loads.
  • Must call the butcher this morning to see if I can pick up the standing rib roast on Friday afternoon instead of Saturday morning, since we're now going to the Women's March in DC on Saturday. We're having our dinner now on Sunday. It shouldn't be a problem.
  • Scoop the boxes tonight
And that's pretty much it for my Thursday. Rick has his union meeting right after work today, so I'll get home before he does. Which means I'm stuck walking The Beast when I get home. He's bowling early tonight, too, so things will be a little rushed for supper and getting him out of the house in time.

My stress test is tomorrow morning. I need to stop worrying about that thing! I'm all stressed out about a stress test!

Good for you for doing something, Primula. That's super. Glad you found something for your beads....isn't it weird the way things fall together sometimes?

He would never ask me to cut the grass if he is able to do it. I would never ask him to iron his own shirts if I am able to do it. :lol3:

Went to McDonald's with a free breakfast coupon. I ate their oatmeal. I love it.
Picked up some things at the grocery store.
Watched the Inauguration on TV.

Rest. I have had a cold this week.

  1. Cleaned the bathroom this morning. Played my YouTube rock music playlist really loud, which made the work go faster. Love rock music.
  2. Walked to my Dunkin Donuts of choice & redeemed birthday coupon for free coffee. I like this location better than the one on my street since nobody knows me there & I can vegetate in peace.
  3. Melania Trump is very ladylike - I will give her that. Trump's first wife looks like a train wreck now.

...with the cats...
among the things i did today were:  got a batch of chili going in the slow cooker, unpacked a package that was delivered today, and got the wood stove going.
