Pam, thanks for Blaze post. People always ask me how many miles I walk each day, but I'm not really interested. I go more by the amount of time I'm outside always between 1-1/2 to 2 hours. More when the weather is hot when I tend to meander around.

You said you did a Bona on your wood floor. What on earth is that?

  1. Going to Lenten confession this evening, which is between 6 & 7 p.m. I do not like going to confession, but we have to go at least once a year.
  2. I let Kandy into sun room this morning when I was eating breakfast. Completely forgot she was out there & took a shower & then left for my daily walk. Goodness knows how long she was there without a litter box. I felt so bad.

Bona is a floor cleaner. I sprayed the Bona on the floor, then wiped it off. It cleaned the floor and left a nice shine. I like it and it works great on wood floors as well as tile.

Poor Kandy. I'm sure she has recovered from her trauma.
A while back, when Mollipop was a much younger kitty, I was in the bathroom and had the closet door open. I didn't realize she was even in the bathroom with me, let alone in the closet. Shut the closet door and left to go feed my sister's cats. Came back in about an hour and couldn't find her. Then I heard her meowing. I felt terrible. Opened the closet door and she zoomed out, yelling at me the entire time.

We have lazy Susans in our bottom corner cabinets in the kitchen. And that's where the dry kibble is. Molli got in on the lazy Susan one time and crawled around to the back. I was busy feeding and didn't realize it. Put Molli's dish down and she wasn't anywhere in sight. Started calling for her and she meowed. I realized where she was, opened the cabinet door, and she stepped out and ran over for her lunch.

I do track miles on the treadmill and when I'm walking outside on my walking route. Other than that, though, it's pretty much steps. According to the  American Heart Association, a brisk wall helps to reduce heart disease and they advocate 10,000 steps a day.  Whether it really works or not, I don't know. I started out with 10,000, but now I'm pretty much up to 20,000 for the most part, sometimes more than that. I shoot for 15,000 most of the time, but usually end up with 20,000, simply because I like to walk. The Fitbit is good for getting me up off my butt.

Nothing would make me get on a treadmill or go to a gym.

Pam, reminder - you were going to post a photo of the secretary cum cabinet in your house.

...with the cats...
today i moved some cheese shred, sliced ham, and a disc of pie crust dough to the fridge to thaw (will be making quiche in a couple of days); washed the dishes, scooped the litter boxes, got the wood stove going, and took out the trash and recycling. i also paid a bill.

I won't go to a gym, but that's because 1) I can't really afford the fees, and 2) I have a ton of exercise equipment in the basement if I would just get off my butt and use it.

Oh crap, I completely forgot about the desk. Will try to remember tonight. My apologies.

Well.....I feel much better than I did yesterday. By the end of the day, my headache turned into a classic migraine with nausea and periods of "bathroom time". It was nasty. Right before I left work, I got sick, thought I had it all out of me, barely got home when I had to do it all over again. I probably shouldn't have driven home last night, but I didn't want my car in the parking lot all night. Til I was done, I had nothing inside of me at all. Changed my clothes, got into my sweats and I went to bed. I asked Rick to get me up at 5:45 so I could get that last hour of stepping in and he did so. By that time, I was feeling much better....amazing what an hour or so of sleep can do sometimes. I told him that we could go for groceries at that time, but he didn't feel like it. So grocery shopping tonight.

I had two wonderful feline nurses last night. Wasn't in bed a minute when both Mollipop and Muffin hopped in with me. Molli snuggled in tightly against my back and Muffin wrapped herself around my arm. And there we were. When Rick came back to awaken me, he said we looked adorable.

So, feeling better this morning; it's still there, I can feel it behind my eyes. It's been a while since I had a migraine. Haven't missed it.
  • Breakfast for the kids, 3.5 miles on the treadmill, general straightening-up in the kitchen, made the bed, grabbed my shower
  • Scoop the boxes tonight
  • Must grab a few groceries; Rick's mom will be calling me to ask where her clemantines are! She gets a little impatient when she wants something sometimes. And the store is having a sale on corned beef and I want to buy a few packages. A package for St. Patrick's Day, one for freezing for later, and one to cook and then slice for Reuben sandwiches.
And I think that will be it.

@Winchester    Isn't it so nice to have friendly, personal, nurses!

   .. they are the best!

Something must be going around. I have been feeling a really bad headache coming on for the past week-- very strange.

Glad you are feeling better.. You really had a whopper migraine! Glad you got home safely.

Honeybee on my lap, music playing in background
Managed to do some vacuuming yesterday morning before work-finally. Just the master bathroom rug-Honeybee made a big mess in there with cat litter and finally got it cleaned up.

Gym last night,

A few things at grocery store, got home Honeybee puffs, scoop boxes- bed.

this morning-Honeybee had to get her puffs-we opened a new canister, give pumps her tuna mush with miralax, syringed Honeybee some miralax incase she doesn't eat Pumps tuna after-she actually likes fluids from a syringe and will lick it as I push in the plunger=I kept her in her green bed and stuck her and the bed up on the kitchen counter and she sat and drank water until she kept dribbling it on her bib which she then tries to squirm and springboard out of there=I didn't want her to hurt herself landing on a slick floor=she's the squirmiest kitty I have ever had-she's like a Slinky.

today: gym, try to cook something for dinner or it's going to be nachos or something quick. and pay some bills tonight. Scoop their boxes.

I came home and Jon picked up all his clutter in the livingroom-I don't mind stuff but he was starting to make piles of papers here and there so I just innocently asked him what's all this? to the stuff on the floor=it was in the way of me reaching the blinds-I didn't want to step on it. So when I came home it was all cleaned up. It was nice to have a bit of my floor clear of clutter. I am guilty too. I didn't want to say anything to him but I will thank him tonight-I didn't notice until this morning when I had to chase Honeybee to do her puffs.

Tomorrow I have to stop at Salvation army-most of my current fiction books are sold at my bookstop so I have to see what they have for sale- (wed 50% off most everything) then if I don't sit in traffic too long hit the gym but more than likely tomorrow will be a rest day.

Those two girls are something. It's like they know when I'm not feeling well. They both hop into bed with me and they'll even put aside their animosity with each other and just cuddle. Oh, I know each is not happy that the other one is there, but they'll deal. They're my M & M girls.

@foxxycat, Rick has a tendency to leave things out often. Coats, hats, etc. When I come home and find a coat hanging off every chair in the kitchen, I'll say, "Dear, how many coats do you need?" And then he'll start putting stuff away again. That will last for a while until I start seeing coats and hats every where and then I mention it again. It's a cycle. He brings the mail in and throws it on the kitchen table. Then the next morning, I sort through it all, put it in piles for bills, recycling stuff, discard stuff, then put everything where it belongs.
  • Breakfast for the kids, 3.75 miles on the treadmill, made the bed, general straightening-up in the kitchen, grabbed a quick shower
  • Separated three small loads of laundry to do tonight
  • Trash night, litter boxes, etc.
We are both off work tomorrow (Thursday). Rick has his colonoscopy first thing in the morning and I'm going with him. I'll wait in the waiting room; that way, they can come and talk to me, if need be. I promised him I'd take him out to lunch when he's finished, and then we'll go home. By tomorrow, he'll be really looking forward to his lunch!

he was starting to make piles of papers here and there
Ugh, my husband with his papers. I have to watch that they don't encroach into another room.

Ugh, there's nothing worse. The prep makes me mental. Don't know if I will put myself through another one.

  1. Rosary Prayer in the a.m. One of the other reciters slipped up & said an extra Hail Mary so I felt better after my flub last week.
  2. Joined a Tuesday prayer group at the cathedral. I am so ignorant of the Bible to put it mildly so hoping to learn something. Very nice bunch of people. Don't think I could stand going every week, but am going to try bi-weekly.
  3. Went to Lenten confession on Monday night. Got flustered since I didn't realize it would be the Archbishop hearing confession. He was very nice & gave me some good advice as to my tendency to be unforgiving.

That is great.. I also flub up during confession. I just talk more than ceremonial stuff, and not really list anything.

Good for you!  I am a Eucharist Minister at church. I am not a speaker, so no Lecturing for me.

The Deacon wanted me to get involved in baptisms, but I did not feel comfortable doing it. They make a huge production with about 10-12 babies each month. It would have been kind of assisting him. Do not feel 'holy' enough to do that. As it is, the Deacon asked me to be an EM.

Never in a million years would I ever think I would do this. I still do not believe I am giving out communion at least twice a month.

I did one decade of the rosary once. I was so nervous.

It's not as easy as it looks reciting the Rosary! But everyone says "there are no mistakes here".

It's great that you're an EM. Can't see myself ever doing anything like that, but the ones whom I'm friendly with love it to pieces. Do you also "travel" in the neighborhood giving communion or only in the church itself?

No, I do not go on home visits. I did it once to a friend, and felt awkward doing that. I am just not feeling as if I should take on that important task. I guess I should say that I do not feel worthy of doing so. I still cannot believe I am as involved as much as I am.

I also collect money during the mass (usher)~~ my dad volunteered me to help one Sunday; it stuck and grew from there.  I am also on the church's social committee.. mostly just to attend the meetings and help them set up, break down, and serve food. Just to feel a part of something. Again, one of the committee members asked if I wanted to join..

Sometimes I help them collect the money in the candle room. Again, it just came to me.. I was asked to help one time..

Now, parishioners, are asking me questions! that is a huge turn around for me.

These things just came to me. I did not go out seeking them. very strange for me to believe that I am involved in all of this.

Yes, when I am nervous about doing something, I am told, "there are No mistakes here.. no one will notice or care"

Rick's colonoscopy is this morning so we'll be going to the doctor soon.
  • Breakfast for the kids, emptied the dishwasher, 4 miles on the treadmill, grabbed my shower
  • Take Rick to doctor (I promised him lunch when he was finished)
  • A quick vacuum about the house tonight, nothing fancy

Thanks! He went all day yesterday without food; he could only have liquids. And he wasn't amused. He thinks this prep was far worse than the last time for some reason.

Luckily, I have only had 2 colonoscopies. The last one, I could not finish drinking the prep, no matter how much I tried. The first time I did the entire thing, and was complimented on how 'clean' I was!! yuck!!   The next time, I was having issues anyway, and found drinking the prep was too much for me. It was a different prep. Not the jug, but citrate of magnesium and other stuff... gross.

I think it is just a sign of us getting older and wiser to the drinks... yuck

Hope Rick has an uneventful procedure. Jon wouldn't go to his until he was 60. I badgered him for 5 years prior. He said he isn't going back either. Sigh. I don't look forward to it either. Hopefully that is WAY off in the future for me. Luckily Jon had no issues. Which reminds me it's been over 5 years since his last one. It's a big doozer to get him to the doctor. He won't go unless he's very sick.

Yesterday

Trash and scoop boxes

Got script for Honeybee's inhalers

Stopped at thrift store to get some books=found out they jacked prices up. I was TICKED off. I only bought 3 things.

gym

Made myself a small meal last night.

this morning

Pumps meds

Honeybee's meds

scoop boxes

shower

drive to work.

did two orders for stuff.

today-sent photo of Honeybee's script to kiwidrugs and hopefully they won't need to get it faxed-I tried to take a photo with phone but it keeps coming out dark even with a flash. Gonna wait until the sun is over this side of the room and use that. Honeybee's getting antsy for the spring. Still biting Jon to get treats.

tonight im going to box up some books and hopefully make the post before it's closed.

Got to price more books-really need to get my butt in gear since I sold most of the newer stuff last month.

And relax tonight with a good book. no gym tonight.

He's fine, thank you! A very small polyp that they're going to biopsy, but the doctor didn't think it was anything to worry about. When the nurse came out to get me, she said she was looking for a redhead. My hair is red, but not overly so anymore. I kinda looked at her and she started to grin. She said, "Your husband told me to look for the cute redhead!"
Bless his heart! I think he was still under the anesthesia!
Because the doctor told him to eat lightly, we didn't go out to lunch. We went home, I made him a windowpane (egg-in-the-hole, whatever you all call them) with some orange juice and he slept the afternoon away. He wanted junk food for supper, so he ran down to McD's for fries and a quarter pounder for us.

So back to work this morning. Got up to three inches of snow and it's still coming down, pretty heavily, too. Down home on the hill, the road was a bit nasty; once we were off the hill, though, things seemed to be a bit better. We were supposed to only get three inches, but heck, we had that at 5:00 this morning. He brought me into work and now I'm worried about him because he was supposed to text me when he got to work. And no text. So now I worry and it will be in the back of my mind until he picks me up tonight. I'm hoping that he just forgot his phone (he does that often).
  • Breakfast for the kids, scooped the boxes, made the bed, grabbed my shower (no time for the treadmill as I had to leave an hour early, since he brought me into work)
  • Run to Target tonight to pick up the Prozac refill for The Beast
I don't think we'll be doing much else tonight and Rick has to work OT all day Saturday. It's mandatory, too, so he's stuck. He doesn't want to go in, but has no choice.
