gym last night. over 8.5 miles on the elliptical machine. filled up my water bottle 3 times. I just put some dance music on and killed it. I know I should have done the weights but I was having fun listening to old dance songs from last century that I just couldn't stop! I stretched for about 20 minutes after and did the back weight machine. trying to build up my core since that's my weakest spot. today at lunch going to work on my plank-I hate those with a passion but I really need to build my back/front up if I want to lift heavier...

yes I joined the gym because I figured it was safer than walking at night and I can socialize more.

9 out of 9 hours with 250 steps on Monday

3.25 miles on the treadmill this morning.

@foxxycat  , since I was home yesterday and working about the house, I plugged the iPod into the stereo in the living room. I had all kinds of music playing and I was dancing right along as I'd clean. I figured a few shimmies and shakes equal a wee bit more exercise.
 Certainly couldn't hurt!

Good idea to do the gym instead of trying to walk at night by yourself. I know there were times when I was out walking along our road that guys would stop and ask if I needed a ride or ask what I was doing out by myself.....and that was in broad daylight! There was no way I'd even think about going out at night by myself....and I'm no spring chicken by any stretch of the imagination.

gym last night. didn't do weights=too many eyeballs and crowded. in another month it will be dead. 65 minutes on elliptical but only 4 miles. watched judge Judy. Should have listened to music, I would have gotten in 5 miles. but every now and then I like to see what stupidity people get themselves into.

That's what I am afraid of=some looser stopping and harassing me. I should get some pepper spray but I hardly ever walk outside...spoiled I guess.

That's so annoying, isn't it? I used to get guys trying to talk to me when I was running with a head-set on. The head-set is there because I don't want to talk!

At least when I walk around here all I have to look out for are the wild boar and the bears.

1 hour of yoga and 90 minutes walk today (unmolested by bear or boar)

don't worry guys still try to talk to you in the gym too. Doesn't matter!

gym last night. did a good long workout. I couldn't wear myself out.

elliptical machine 1 hour 4.5 miles

smith machine

squats, forward rows, overhead press

assisted chinup machine with lots of weight to assist since I have 0 arm strength. I used to do pull ups like they were nothing..sad!

my fav part was sliding on 25lb plates on the bar for the 2nd time ever. I was trying to fatigue the muscles and find where it wears me out. started at 65lbs and just add 5 lbs each time..so got to socalled 95  lbs but 10 of it the machine balances for me so it's more like 80/85lbs. I pushed the weights up another 5lbs for overhead press now at 65lbs. I couldn't wear myself out! I ended up leaving because I was hungry!

Didn't do gym last night-got a cramped up right foot so I rested it and read my book all evening.

Tonight I have someone from work who wants me to show them stuff for their arms so instead of doing elliptical machine for an hour we will just do 20 minutes to warm up and then show her some of the free weights and pull up assist machine. She's a tiny gal and strong as heck. I think she is 4' 11?! she's a miniature gal is what I call her but she keeps herself fit with a six pack abs that impresses me but she doesn't know all the weight machines/exercises..so this will be something different..not sure if I do well as a teacher but gonna try. Now off to Google to print out some maps of exercises..

Did an hour of yoga this morning and then went for an onsen. A hot spring bath with a steam room, followed by a massage.

Every now and then you have to spoil yourself.

gym last night. spent about 2 hours. did 20 minutes on elliptical. 1.75 miles then we did a bunch of free weights to find out where she is in her journey back to weights. we messed around with the assisted chin up/dip machine. Then showed her how to use the smith machine and had her do the exercises with the bar empty. then we messed around with the pulleys/universal weight area then we did the dreaded weighted crunch machine that you lay down and hold those handles by your ears. I had 10lb on there and could barely do 5 the first time. she did 15 no problem then I made myself do 10 more. I absolutely hate ab exercises. But I know I need to do them.

Indeed. That sounds like heaven!

You go, girl! I need to get back downstairs to the Bowflex and I keep putting it off.

9 out of 9 hours with 250 steps on Thursday

3 miles walked during lunch on Thursday

2 miles on the treadmill this morning.

1.5 miles on the treadmill for the stress echo test this morning (and I'm counting that as exercise as it's primarily all uphill and it took some work)

I am using the Fit Bit One, which is the tracker that clips onto your belt or pocket. A friend had given me a generic armband that it fits into. I have been using that at night as the one that came with the Fit Bit One started coming off my arm at night.

So I decided to just wear this one on my arm a few days. I have noticed that it records many more steps when I wear it on my arm. I think it must be recording all movement of my arm. It make me wonder how accurate the tracker that are make for wearing on the arm really are.

Anybody want to chime in here, feel free.

5,000 miles in about 3.5 years. That's the length of Africa. I walked them. Just got my badge from Fitbit this morning.

Sunday -

3 miles on the treadmill

Monday -

4 miles on the treadmill

3 miles walked during lunch

8 out of 9 hours with 250 steps (I was sitting in a chair having my hair colored for that last hour)

@blueyedgirl5946  I don't know much at all about the Fitbit One or about arm trackers. A while back Fitbit did a huge update and that messed everything up; as a result, many will tell you that the Fitbits are not counting every step. I can tell you that, too. When I was using the Flex, I started to take it off my wrist and put it in the pocket of my sweatpants....believe it or not, it kept better track in my pocket than it did on my wrist. While I do think my Blaze keeps better track than the Flex did, it's still off a bit. For example, I know for a fact that my walking route at work is right around 3.15 miles; the Blaze keeps telling me that it's 2.75 and I know that's not true. I even have my Blaze set up to follow the GPS of my walking route on my phone. It still says it's only 2.75 miles. I know better; I've been walking that route for at least 13 years now...clocked it with my car and with my iPod.

I see a lot of people around here using armbands and their phones or their iPods or their trackers. But I don't know how accurate they are.

Does it help you to reset your stride length? Would that help your One to keep better track, do you think?

I had a very lazy weekend.

Worked all day Saturday and Sunday, went out for drinks on Saturday night and sat on the sofa doing nothing on Sunday.

Monday I walked for 2 hours and this morning I did an hour of yoga before work. Gotta keep moving!

Congratulations on the 5,000 miles @Winchester  Love the colours on that badge.

I am quoting myself here because I am still hoping somebody can answer this question. When I had my Fit Bit One on my arm, it was recording steps when I was at the sink doing things in the kitchen. Has anybody who wears another kind of Fitbit checked this out with theirs to see if they all do this.

Thank you. I hope others will chime in and check this about their Fit Bits.

My Blaze does not do that either. When I first got it, I purposely started moving my arm without moving anything else....sat at the kitchen table. And nothing. The Blaze didn't even budge.

One of the things I'm doing is trying to get 250 steps for every hour between 9:00 am and 6:00 pm. I have watched the Blaze while I was walking and sometimes I will walk 5-6 steps before it even registers one step! That is frustrating.
