Before I start, here as the original thread when I first took Jophiel to the vet for his 'pudding' consisting poop. http://www.thecatsite.com/t/330875/...-there-were-several-things-found#post_4155248

Fast forward to today , Jophiel has had 2 rounds of antirobe. He has been off the meds for days and where as his poop never firmed up I felt a bit less concered and was going to wait until the first week of January to call vet for his follow up. Well today changed that. Jophiels bum is just leaking poop everywhere.. Like really, leaking everywhere [emoji]128546[/emoji]Poor thing and I'm exhausted as well. Everything yesterday was totally fine, but things changed at like 5am. I have three little boys life is busy and cleaning up diarrhea everywhere all morning was a lot. I called vet, made appointment and went in this am.
Vet was concered with last fecal test that the Jophiel has Fip , as his belly was swollen more then last time. That was scary to hear! After spending close to 1800 in less then one month after adopting these two cats, I know hubby is going to be quite frustrated with more vet bills as I am myself. I had to get an X-ray to rule out abdominal fluid, good news though, it did rule it out and his abdominal was not filled with fluid just a full tummy and intestines full with liquid(diarrhea). So even though expensive that was good news.
He has now put him on clavaseptin for 14 days and had told me that in his experience what can get rid of diarrhea quickly would be to not feed cat until tomorrow am and for the next 10 days feed him 200g of boiled chicken a day.

I am feeling horrible this is all so stressful, I know for Jophiel and for me. I have to keep both cats locked in the bathroom for the next or so in hopes the leaking diarrhea stops. I just want Jophiel to be well, I just want his diarrhea to be gone and him(and I) not have to deal with this anymore. I def don't think he has worms but vet insisted to do yet another deworming. He had one in shelter back in June. One in September. One on December 3rd when I took him to get and yet anted today.

I didn't read through all the comments but what I'm gathering is that he's been on a lot of meds and had a lot of different infections. If this was my cat I'd get him on probiotics ASAP to help his gut heal and firm up those stools. s boulardii is totally safe for cats and very popular for use in both IBD cats but cats that have diarrhea. I use it with my own cats daily. It wont interfere with any medication you're giving and you can sprinkle or mix it in food. I see you're in Canada so here's a link to a site you can get it from if you can't find it locally.

yep that's it :) It absolutely should help, but it may take a few doses. You can mix in wet food, in baby food (no onions or garlic) or a little tuna water, or if none of that works mix in a little water or tuna water in syringe. Most cats eat it mixed in their food just fine, tho.

I didn't see you say how old is he but if he's younger than 9 months he should be given the "kitten" dosage while over 9 months get adult dosage.

"Traditional dosing for therapeutic treatment of diarrhea in adult cats as provided by U.C. Davis is one-half of a 250mg capsule (5 billion CFU) given twice daily. Treatment for kittens is half of the adult dose. It can be given with food; it does not have to be. This is usually sufficient for loose stools of normal frequency. For the “emergency stop diarrhea” approach, we find more frequent dosing of smaller amounts of the probiotic, providing a higher total CFU the first day or two, resolves diarrhea much more quickly.

He is not to eat tonight so I gave in a syringe with a little water. He took very easily guess he liked the flavour. He is 7 months, 8lb 10oz. So what if I want to the 2-3 hour dose? How much to give him?

Because he's technically a kitten you should follow the kitten dosage instructions, which are half the adult dosage. It'll be a little tricky to only give half of 1/4 a capsule every few hours but just do your best again, it's safe, and he's mostly adult size, but i would still follow their instructions. You could also just follow the therapeutic dosage of 1/4 a cap twice a day, which may be easier for you. Here's what they say about the therapeutic dosage

"it can be given at “therapeutic” doses as discussed above twice a day (and doubled if you see improvement in stool but diarrhea or soft cow patty stools have not resolved)."

I was looking through your other post and I just wanted to mention that there are studies that show that s boulardii is very effective at treating Clostridium, coccidia, and other bacterias. I would continue following your vet's prescribed meds, but the addition of s boulardii should really help. Keep us posted on his progress!

Sorry late update. He seeming fine now. We need up having to do that bland diet and probiotics for a few weeks but after that he seems to be fine. I never went back for a second panel as we could not really afford at the time, we had spend well over $1500 at this point and were in the process of moving. He seems happy and healthy now and no longer has diarrhea.
