Why are cat food cans so small?

It's such a pain to have these itty bitty cans when trying to feed two cats. Are there brands that have bigger cans?

Yes, some brands come in 12-13 oz cans and many come in 5.5 oz cans. What brand/size are you feeding them now?

The reason that 3-oz cans are so popular is that a lot of cats won't eat leftovers, and that's the perfect meal size for most cats. Picky beasts! :lol3:

Pretty much whatever the stores sell so I can get the multi-can packs. The pickiness factor does make sense. Little divas...

There are many brands that are available in larger sized cans in addition to the 3 oz cans
Head to the local chain or independent pet store to see a variety of different brands in different can sizes
Friskies is one brand available in a 5 oz can that you can find at supermarkets and big box stores that often come in large box of multiple flavors. A few of the Friskies varieties come in the large 12 oz can.

Some brands with cans larger than 3 oz: Nature's Variety, Weruva, Tiki Cat, Wellness, Innova EVO, Hounds and Gato, Go Natural, Soulistic (made by the same company as Weruva and only sold at Petco), Nutro, Natural Balance, Nature's Logic, Dave's, Blue Bufflao, Wild Calling. Many of these brands are sold only at indpendent pet stores and you can buy them by the case but it's usually just one variety / flavor in the entire case.

That and many people still feed only dry food and consider canned food to be a treat so a 3 oz can is an indulgence.

I have experienced that. I try to fool them by microwaving it for 10 seconds. Sometimes it works.
