I hate to post on here for something like this but this is getting really aggravating. I guess the people in adopted my cats from only fed them Purina Kitten Chow. I tried getting them to eat wellness kitten and blue Buffalo kitten and they won't eat either.

I tried the transitional things where you put just a little bit in their bowl with the old food and transition to more every day but they won't even touch the new food. I tried mixing it with wet food (they eat any wet food) but they spit it out when they get it and just eat the wet food. I tried putting new food out for a period of time. Taking it back and putting old out. They would just eat the old and leave the new. No matter what. I tried everything.

I've read all of the advice on transitioning them to new food but they won't do it no matter what.

A couple of things to help with advice:

I've made sure all of the new food is the same flavor is the old.

I've tried offering it to them like a treat, with their freebies treats. No go.

I've tried taking the old food out of the house so they can't smell it. Nothing.

I've tried not letting them eat anything for 12 hours and then trying the new food after they're meowing at me to food them. Nope. They just smell it then keep meowing at me.

I need some clues as to what else to do. Please..... I'm at a loss.

My kittens are both around 7 months old.

Thank you.

You could always ask other high quality brand companies for dry food samples to see if they like any of those options so you don't waste money on a bunch of different brands, but in the meantime, if they willingly eat high quality wet food, feed as much of that as possible to fill them up on so they won't be as hungry for the Purina.   My cat is picky and she loved the Whole Earth Farms kitten dry food, and now is eating Canidae pure elements.  both are grain-free and have very healthy ingredients.
