I got a 10 week old foster today. She was with another foster lady but she went on holiday so the kitten will be with me until she gets adopted.

every time I touch her stomach she cries and shifts away. She is really scared and hides. She ate a lot today but haven't seen her doing her business [emoji]128584[/emoji]. She was already dewormed, got her vaccination and she was also tested negative for feline aids and leukemia.. She has been like this since I got her this morning. She also had fleas and a few sores ( got her something for the fleas at the vet ). I'm just worried about her stomach. I can touch her everywhere else except there.. even when she roles around to lay on her back she does it really slowly. Any suggestions on what can be wrong ? ( previous foster mom didn't say anything )

I'd start by having the kitten examined by the vet to make sure there is not a medical issue or that the kitten has been injured. She may be constipated and the belly may be causing her pain. Kittens are known to eat and play well despite being ill or injured.

If the kitten is deemed ok, just respect that the kitten doesn't want her belly touched. This is quite normal for many cats/kittens.

It there something I can get to help with constipation? unfortunately I have to get permission to take her to the vet for I am fostering her and we are a non profit organisation so it has to be something serious before they will let me take her [emoji]128584[/emoji]. So maybe I should perhaps first check out the constipation. She hasn't been to the litter tray for the whole day so that might be it. Her stomach seems a little bloated

A kitten that has a bloated/painful belly is something that would be considered serious and require a vet visit.

I help run a rescue and this is something we would not hesitate taking a kitten to be seen about.

Please contact your organization and ask them to setup a vet appointment.

she is really skinny. If you touch her you only feel bones. She is eating Royal canine baby cat food and I leave food out for her so that she can eat when she is hungry ..
