Hades was put to sleep today by an in-home euthanasia veterinarian. His renal failure was too advanced for even hospitalization to help him. We took him home so he could de-stress a tad and he could go in peace. He just could not bounce back from his crash. I'm terribly upset, of course, but I'm glad that I was able to help him cross the bridge without extended suffering or misery.

Rest in Peace, Hades

My heart goes out to you for your loss, I pray you find comfort in knowing you did what you could to help him, and you saved him from further suffering. For that he is grateful, and he loves you all the more for it. He was in your life for a reason, he brought much to it. He knows how much he was loved and cherished and the bond you have formed will always tie you together spiritually. Not even death can take that from you. Use it to send him your love and comfort and he will do the same. He is at peace now, his little body failed but his spirit lives on. I pray for you both, that you find peace in your heart knowing you gave that little boy such a wonderful home full of love, and fro him to have a swift journey to the Rainbow bridge where he will join the legions that have gone ahead of him to wait for their joyful reunion. Take care and know we are here fro you if you need to talk, take care.......RIP sweet Hades, you will never be forgotten and the 'essence' that is you  will reside forever in the heart that so tenderly holds it, sleep tight, sweet Prince!

Sorry for your loss, but it is comforting to know that he passed at his home, not in a vet's office. You did more than you could for him, but it is always so sad to let them go. He is no longer in ill health.

God Bless.......

Thanks for sharing.  RIP Hades.  It was difficult to let go.

You did the right thing.
