I'll be gone for about 36 hours during the weekend, maybe a little longer. How do I continue to feed raw?

I was thinking about getting an automatic feeder with the ice packs but I'm not sure how feasible that will be after the first meal. I'm planning for three meals in which I won't be around. This is an impromptu getaway so I can't get a cat sitter or get anyone to help.

Should I feed freeze-dry raw for that time?

thanks in advance.

For 36 hours I'd get a cat sitter to come at least once.

Will your cats nibble on food if you leave it out?  Yes...you CAN leave out raw food.  I leave food out for my cats in a chilled bowl (bowl fitted over an ice pack) and they happily eat it even 24 hours later with no problems at all.  If you're nervous about doing this, do it with a high pressure pasteurized food (not grocery meat).    For 36 hours, you can probably get away with just putting everything out in one go, if you're not willing to get a sitter.

I guess alternatively you could use one of those automatic feeders with freeze dried raw food, but I'd try that out when you're around first to make sure it'll work for your cats.  I'd be nervous about it not opening, or the cats not noticing that it's open in time.
