Good morning!
And Happy Friday!
Rick and I are both off today.

Our question this morning deals with New Year's superstitions: What do you do on New Year's Eve or New Year's Day (if anything) to bring good luck for the New Year?
We have our little quirks:
- About five minutes before midnight on NY Eve, I'll put an old pocketbook outside on the front door knob with a $1.00 bill and some change in it. Then after the ball drops, I go out and bring the pocketbook back inside the house. That way, the first thing I do is bring money into my house. My grandmother did that for as long as she was alive and I've done it more often than not for as long as I've had a house.
- Rick and I haven't actually seen the ball drop in 45 years. As the countdown starts from 10, Rick and I kiss until the New Year comes in. We've done that every year since we've been married. (Don't laugh: One of Rick's cousins who got married the same year we did always kissed on NY Eve, too. Until that one year they didn't. And they got divorced the following year. So....I don't know, superstitious? Probably. Taking a chance? Nope!
- And of course, on New Year's Day, I always serve crock pot pork and sauerkraut for dinner. Another tradition that my grandmother kept to, as did my mom, and now me. It's supposed to bring good luck throughout the year. I found this on FB from one of Rick's cousins, who also does the pork and sauerkraut thing: https://billypenn.com/2015/12/31/po...h-believe-its-your-luckiest-meal-of-the-year/
