Hi, just seeking some advice or if anyone else has had this issue.

my 1 year old has started this new thing of sometimes leaving bits of poop round the house.

It's not a constant thing. About a month ago he appeared to have just let a bit miss the litterbox and another in the hall (these had shape). This month it's happened twice, once on my roomates desk and one in my window (these were more like smudges), i dont think he brought it in off his paws as theres no marks where he walked, just on the items themselves and just once he completely missed the box.

His bowl movements seem good, he goes 1-2 times a day, he's eating plenty and drinking normal. Other than the poop, he looks and seems healthly.

Is your cat medium or long-haired? It may simply be what many people refer to as "dingleberries", i.e., little bits of feces that stick to the hair around the anus and drop off outside the litter box. It can happen with shorthaired cats, but is more common when they have long(er) hair.

He's a shorthair and doesn't have long fur around his anus.
