He has broken countless bowls and dishes, killed every plant I ever brought into the house, even managed to chew up all the cacti and kill the roses I was growing outside by peeing on them. He smashed a computer monitor by knocking it off the desk.

(My fault, I thought one of those Bird Videos for Cats would keep him quiet.)

He has learnt how to open the cupboard doors and can tear open packets of food and get into Tuperware, so no food is safe from him.

He's such a lovely boy though, we forgive him for everything he does.
That look!  It's the look of a benevolent tyrant surveying his domain.  True, he has to put a lot of work into retaining power but he's up for it!  Being adorable and having such a splendid tail probably help a lot, too.

Cardboard boxes are short lived in this house,

Paper bags turned into mutilated paper pieces,

a cardboard scratching lounge turned into a horror scene.

Mail on a desk turned into shredded documents. They were not even running for president.

Nylon in this house looks like Swiss cheese.

We've only had our kitten for 4.5 months so far (she's 7 months old) but so far she hasn't done any significant damage luckily.  She did knock over a tray of pasta with sauce onto the floor after jumping up on the kitchen counter one time, which she is not allowed on, and she likes to scratch anything soft or carpeted despite having her own scratching posts and pads, but so far not really any damage from it luckily.  She likes to destroy cardboard boxes but I will happily take that over anything of significance, and she went through a phase where she would purposely knock over her food bowl to play with her dry food pieces but luckily she seems to be over that!   She also likes to steal things from bedrooms like socks and hair ties but she just likes to swat them around and doesn't do any damage to them and she LOVES to chase moving images on the TV but thank god she hasn't broken anything

Hekitty is, overall, very well behaved, but I have one chair that she is determined to take apart, thread by thread.  It is also her favorite napping spot, so she may just be getting the texture right for max comfort.

7-9 cats:  They're a good pride;

Paper towels and tissue are never safe.....

They steal keys or any small objects you need, I swear they just watch me sometimes

Toque and his brother as kittens scribbled a masterpiece on back of sectional sofa

A few things knocked over from them playing..

I've had worse damage from Lovebird destroyed lamp shades-shredded a 50. 20. and a 10.00

then a check when collecting donations. Purse was open. Royal Bank replaced the money

told me to stop lining the bird cage with Bills

What has been destroyed?

Well, I stopped counting the furniture a long time ago.  Needless to say if we sat on it, they ripped it apart.

One cat alone was responsible for 3 artificial trees and several ornaments.  We switched to real trees for several years and we still use only plastic, wood or metal ornaments.  He was also responsible for multiple glasses and jar candles.  I now use plastic glasses and have banned jar candles from the house.  Technically not broken but he bent the top of my toaster oven and now whenever it's used, the heat causes a loud bang as the metal pops out from expansion.  And any fruit that is round must be kept contained or there will be teeth and claw holes that go bad.  At least half of the venetian blinds we've ever owned were destroyed by that one cat.  Claw skid marks in the door frames and a couple of external corners - same cat.  He tore one corner completely apart.  I strongly suspect he did in a corkscrew that snapped in half by knocking it on the floor every day.  Multiple picture frames when they were placed too low on the wall and therefore were in paw reach.  A couple of LED candles (they don't survive falls well).  Half responsible for the replacement of a carpet when my idiot husband left a glass of cherry koolaid on a table (red doesn't come out well).

The cat that did in the other half of the carpet...well, we had been keeping the litter box on linoleum and didn't realize that she hung her butt out of the box every time.  The roommate insisted it be moved to a carpeted area, and the urine got into the padding really fast and we could never get the smell out.  Hence carpet replacement.

Drat - I misread the title.  I could have sworn it said, "what things hasn't your cat destroyed?"  Never mind, then.

Whoops!

You know though, with some cats it is easier to list what they haven't been able to destroy than to list what they have done in.

We just, like a month ago, replaced a bunch of venetian blinds and the d***ed cat has already wrecked one.  It's the one near the brand new cat tree and we can't fully raise the blinds 24/7 (I don't want to advertise when we leave the downstairs unoccupied at night).  So when they aren't open, like right now when it's pitch black out, the cat shoves his head through the blinds and several slats are already bent and some have snapped.

When we kept Missy indoors, as a kitten, she destroyed all the plants and could not stop scratching the couch. Once she had been neutered, she became a part time outdoor cat, with a remarkable positive effect on her destructive indoor behavior.

Thanks to mother nature...

  a natural scratching post

 the highest cat tree

 interesting little creatures

 and a clear blue sky

No more need to be destructive...

Despite not being especially destrucive in generally and only using her scraching posts ( and of course the box spring on my bed, because no cat I have ever had can be dissuaded from that...) for normal scratching, my cat has, on accident (then later on purpose at least once and a LOT to mark them) scratched up my leather sofa and chair in the livingroom.  She also likes to murder plants with extreme prejudice...

So the destructive one of the bunch has tried for one more thing.  I put their food and water in the entree sized gladware containers as having such a shallow dish helps with feeding.  So the destructive cat is at the water dish and I look closely and he has hooked his paw under the edge of the container and has one side up in the air at roughly a 45 degree angle.  (Thank goodness I choose to not put a lot of water in when refilling the bowl.)  I say his name and he looks at me with the water dish still in the air, looks down at it, and finally lowers it and starts drinking.

Why does he want to pour the water out all over the carpet?

So far, this is the only thing January ever destroy and still doing it. He usually scratch on his cat tree scratch posts but this has become his favorite scratch post. We have two single seater and all four corners are used :lol3:

Okay... now that I've stopped laughing - my little Ozzie, Son of White Tip - was just a tiny kitten when I found him, and was literally infested with biting lice, so his first order of business was to get to the Vet for shampooing and treatment.  Clearly, his relief was almost instantaneous, and it's also clear that he associated water with comfort, even years later.  He splashes in his water dish (which, of course, has to be changed several times a day), leaps into the bathtub when water's running, splashing 'round like some demented, furry dolphin; he jumps into any and every sink when water's running, and will sit in the shower, looking up at the shower head and screaming, "meowatersss," until I turn the water on.  One of us is obviously crazy, and I'm beginning to suspect that it might not be Ozzie.

He ate a recliner.  Well, not completely...yet.  It's still a work in progress.
