We had a new roof put on a few weeks ago. Our 2 year old cat freaked. She hid under our bed & would only come out late at night! About 10 days ago she seemed to pull a muscle in he back leg. She stopped eating. I took her to the vet that took extensive X-rays, blood & urine test and put her on Antibotics , I V of fluid cause of a high fever and said it must be from stress cause there is nothing medically wrong. She is so weak she shakes when she tries to stand but still tries to get to her litter box. She fell into it this morning & then laid there to poop & pee. She was 11 lbs 6 months ago but was under 9 lbs at the vet. I have tried hand feeding her & it seems to work one day but by the next day she refuses to eat anything. Should I try a different vet or has someone got help for me, I M almost sick with worry

She seems very sick and needs another vet visit.

I agree completely.  I've never heard of stress causing a high fever, or causing them to be so weak they can't stand up on their own.  You need to assist feed her with a syringe (needleless) rather than try to just keep her to eat from hand feeding.  Here's a video of how to do it:  http://www.thecatsite.com/t/227858/syringe-feeding-lucky-video-if-your-cat-is-not-eating

Not likely to be stress. Animals do not have 'stress issues' the way we do; they will experience a stressor, the fight or flight instinct happens (in this case yours 'fled' and hid under the bed), and then they return to baseline. Unless she is continually being terrorized by someone or something, it is not stress or anxiety. I would also question whether she pulled a muscle- what makes you think that? Is her gait off, or her rear leg(s) not seeming to be as functional? Is she strictly an indoor cat?

Could she have gotten into anything when the repair work was being done? Any chemicals, paint remover, insecticides, cleaning products etc? (cats are extremely sensitive to some chemicals). Any findings in the blood work such as low red blood cell, white blood cell, or platelets?

I would find a different vet. Two months ago I almost lost my 2-year old cat and we still don't know what caused her issues. She was weak, lethargic, not eating, lost weight, her hind legs seems to be dragging a bit, not playing, and hiding under the bed which she never did before. She was also licking the tile /concrete floor and trying to eat litter (called Pica, usually a sign of a deficiency or anemia). Unknown to me at the time, these are all symptoms of anemia; I took her to emergency and they saw her gums were almost white (should be pink) so they ordered blood work- she had 1/5 of the normal red blood cell count of a healthy cat so her entire system was badly deprived of oxygen. We still do not know if her bone marrow was shutting down or if it was a toxin, an infection, or an autoimmune condition. She has been on Dexamethasone (steroid) for two months and is now almost 100% again thankfully.

I wish you well and good luck!
