Artie was strait jacketing me all night, in bed!! At one point this morning he did tap me a couple times.. I ignored it..

I got up, went into the kitchen and found a huge mess!!! a mess!! The place mat for his food dish was moved, his bowl was licked clean-- just crumbs left, but the place mat had tons of crumbs of food on it, the floor looked as if he overturned his food-- It was splattered all over!! Even on the Wall.. I do not know what he was doing. It took me a full 10 minutes to clean it up!!!!

And he was Yowling at me the entire time!!...He is still on the appetite stimulant.

No poops-- want him to go. I gave him some miralax this morning.

here is a picture of him from a couple nights ago, on  my lap..

He has his head resting on the arm of the chair..

He wants to eat so that's a plus. Hopefully he can go today without discomfort. He's got lots of sass with all that yelling at you so that's good too.

Look at that gorgeous little sweetheart. I just want to kiss that adorable face. Please give him some hugs and kisses for me.

Forgive me if I am being ignorant of a question that has already been answered, but I have to ask, is there any chance that Artie may have some sort of bowel obstruction, hence all this constipation?

I know that he is sick, but an obstruction may be making him sicker than he needs be.   Just a thought.

What a lovely photo. He looks like he's sucking his thumb ( that's if he had one)

All it takes is a good poop to make us happy[emoji]128522[/emoji]. Well done Artie, keep being sassy
That and the occasional close up of a kitten's fanny when the gender questions arise!  But right now, Artie's poop is my #1 thing!

well, he does have a dew claw!!  that is close enough to a thumb for me!!
And if Artie is as clever as Hekitty, and I am sure that he is, he uses that dewclaw very much like a thumb!  I love that picture of him.  Although he is still thin, LORD, is he a handsome boy!  And full of sass, which just warms my heart!  HUGS to both of you, and Hekitty sends headbonks and purrs!

Artie yowled and took me to his litter box. He pooped just a thick one inch segment which was dry.... starting to worry now..

Man, it happens so fast.. I guess it has to be related to the miralax dosage. At 1 tsp or a bit more, it was too much diarrhea.. stop the miralax to help with the diarrhea and 4 days later it is getting hard.. I think 1/2 tsp should be ok, but I am so afraid to allow him to have hard poops.. do not want to relive the past 6 weeks....constipation, enemas.. shudder...

poor baby..

OH NO!!!  I just realized that tomorrow is SUB~Q's    !!!!!!!!!  Oh no, another test!!!!  pray for me!!

Don't worry.
You're getting the hang of this.   It's clear from reading over the last few weeks that you've got a much better sense of what he needs and when he needs it.  It sounds like you just have to be constantly adjusting, like a finely tuned motor. [emoji]128295[/emoji]

Many vibes that Sub-Q day goes well.

I just love the picture of "our" dear boy.  He has such a sweet face.

Hoping and praying all goes well with sub-Q.  It's important to be confident, IMHO, and you will do fine.  As to the intestinal issues and meds, you do seem to be getting closer to fine-tuning it, but other posters are right when they say it can need adjustment day to day -- I know this from my friend whose cat also has these issues.  She is a doctor, too.

Artie is so handsome!  Very nice pic. *SNORGLES* to him.

Woke up to find the food bowl a mess again. This time I left him 1 1/2 cans of the prescription food, mixed with water.. He ate just one small can... sigh..

I think he is getting constipated again.. he has no appetite for his food this morning.. it is the prescription food, he wants his old food..He is really not going over to it and eating..

Plus he left a 2 inch hard piece of poop in the box, late yesterday afternoon...sigh...

Will be attempting the sub-q's when he quiets down. I need to get to him wherever that will be.. need to hang another hook in my bedroom..I have the bag warming up right now..

I may tempt him with Wild Calling Rabbit, but he does not care for that either. I honestly feel the NV and the Pride line from NV are not good foods for him because of the clay.. but what do I know??? I think by keeping him on one food it would be easier to regulate him...

Ok another picture.. this is from my files and was taken a while ago...

this was taken in September, on his new pillow/bed... a friend makes them..

the blue thing in the background, is his quilt/bed. It was originally mine from my old twin bed at my parents, then became my dad's.. I kept on to it; Artie inherited it..

I DID IT, AGAIN!!!   I DID THE SUB-Q'S !!!!  HAPPY DANCE....I got him when he was comfortably sunning himself in  y bedroom. . I warmed the fluids, He did not even flinch!! What a good boy he is...

except, I would feel better if he decides to eat something.. and did poops.. so far nothing at all to eat. I even opened up a can of Wild Calling Rabbit.. He was all over me for the food, but once he got it, nothing.. he did have his cerenia and pepcid, so he cannot be nauseous, unless he is 'backed up' again.....sigh....

gotta go on with my life.. have to jump in the shower...Artie only has the steroid to take this morning.. I can give him that later this morning..

What a sweetie pie.  Cute blanket.

I think a hard 2 inch poop is still a plus - it means things are still working.  If he's not drinking as much, he's going to have hard poop no matter miralax or other stool softeners.  Patience is needed...  he'll get there.

From what you are telling us, it sounds like he's getting into a routine and knows whats good for him.

I'm chalking this up as a plus.

Have a good day, and take care of yourself.

Does Artie show interest in playing or is he curious about bird sounds?  or anything.  I do love that he's jumping on you for food, he's showing interest and probably doesn't like the food.

I'll check back later.  xoHope

Great news about the Sub-Q!  You're going to be teaching other people how to do it in no time!

Artie is so adorable. That's a nice photo of him.  There can never be too many Artie pictures, btw, so bring them on.

Boy, he takes the term "picky eater" to new extremes.  I'm glad he at least ate one can - maybe after his fluids he'll eat more.  And hopefully the fluids will help with the constipation.
