Hey everyone.
I read a few posts on pooping outside of litter box, but most are about full pooping outside. My cat poops in the litter box but there we seem to find like a small piece out of the litter box. It looks as if he pooped and then jumped out before he actually finished? It doesn't happen that often but at least once in two weeks? But I do feel like it is getting frequent. I try clearing up more often than I usually do and have been changing litter sand more often as well. But yea, probably been going on for about 2 months now? No major changes to his behavior though. Wonder if anyone could give me some advice. Probably the best option should be to bring him to the vet yea? I just wanted to see if anyone knows anything about this. Cause he doesn't seem to have any other major issue s and it isn't that frequent.

Thank you.

I, too, find random pieces of poop here and there. Sometimes near the box, sometimes in a different room.

If the cats check out all healthy and no issues, behavioral or health, sometimes poop just get stuck and they don't notice it until it falls.

Hi-
This sometimes happens with my cat as well. I think it just gets stuck to her fur and when she jumps out of the litter box it then comes off. I wouldn't worry about that.

Thanks for your replies, everyone! He'a a domestic shorthair though and yea, hasn't have any behavioral changes I know of. I have to say though the last poop that we always find is slighly wetter than the one inside the litter? But maybe it's just me or like the sand kinda makes it look harder anyway haha

Okay I may monitor for awhile more. If it really has become more frequent I should probably check with a vet. Thanks again!

I think it is normal for cat to get cling-ons once is a while. When Midi gets them he runs around like made until he loses it. When it happens in the morning, it is like a yucky easter egg hunt to see where he lost it

This happens with my cats ALL the time. One issue I think is that they tend to eat my hair if they find strands of it lying around the house, so when they poop it out, their little turds get stuck to it. Often when I scoop their litter box, several little turds will be stuck together by a piece of hair, like beads on a poo necklace
 Pretty gross...
