Three weeks ago our strictly indoor cat got out while my dad was here and ran off. We have looked and finally had a call from one of our flyers. The cat was a small torti just like our Pensy however the coat had more orange. I figured that could be due to stress. The main difference was its eyes were gold while our sweet girl's eyes are bright green. The lady that called said I'd know if it was my cat. I don't know if it was wishful thinking or what but I cannot stop thinking about it. Could it be my cat or is it wishful thinking?
I left food for it and I'm going to go back to check on it. It could have an owner as there's a lot of cats over that way.

Hi and welcome!

Have you seen the cat in person yourself?

If not, one person's idea of green eyes might be another calling them gold.

You will know once you see the face if it's yours.

I did see it briefly. I guess it was just wishful thinking. At first I thought it was her just looking really terrible until I saw the gold eyes. :( I hope we find her safe soon.

Aww I'm sorry. I know it's disappointing.

Did you offer a reward on your flyers?

Money always gets attention.........sad but true.

It may help.

So I wonder if the other little girl doesn't have a home?

You are so right. I wish it wasnt that way though. We did offer a reward. I'm going to print more flyers and make the pictures bigger this time as well as the part that says reward. I'm wondering if it had a home because it looked so rough. I put out food for it and I'm going to go back and check on it. When I put the food out it just sat there so I'm not sure if it just wasn't hungry or it wasn't touching the food until I was gone. Poor baby. That is probably the other reason I can't get it off my mind.
Thank you for responding to me! I appreciate your help.

Okay so let me get in to better detail as to where your cat might be.

A cat who is strictly indoors and goes out, will not wander far at all, they will stay within 2 houses or so in either direction, and will hide out scared.

They will not come out if they hear you call either, so it ends up completely up to you to find her.

Hunkered down in a small hidden spot, deep under bushes is common, I highly suggest putting smelly cat food or tuna on your porch where she left from too. Always, so at least she can eat something if she is trying to come back, which she very likely is.

You can also take a can of tuna and a few paper plates and just before dark, place plates with the tuna on it here and there near your house and next door.

Include the juice too as it smell carries far.

This should help draw her out, after 3 weeks she must have gone looking for food by now.

To help find her, go at night with a bright flashlight, as I said, she won't come out when called but those eyes can be spotted easily with a flashlight.

BTW, torties are always girls :)
