We live in a mobile home park, and there are strays and a few ferals. I have 6 cats , 1 is a feral that I take care of , 2 are recent adoptees to my home -strays, and the others are all rescues in forms.

In March of 2016.. Our beloved baby Thunder, who was born severly deformed - welll he had no front forearms, paws connected at the shoulder, he had breathing issues . He was born in 1997(8). This is the cat our vet said would die before he ever reached 5 years old. Thunder did not know he was special, he adapted to his problems and could even jump up on the bed and then he'd climb down backwards to get down. He was a begger too and when you didn't feed him right off he'd sit in kitchen, rump up in the air and he'd "Pout". and give a little short mew. We lost him to kidney failure on March 13th, 2016. He was given to me by a friend that worried dogs would get him. I sure do miss him. He was just shy of his 24th Birthday.

Snowflake was a rescue when he was 2 wks old along with 5 other kittens, kids were taking them and swinging these babies by the tail and letting them fly.. I saw this and ooh did I jump on some butts for their behavior towards life. I gathered the babies and brought them home. There was Snowlfake , Garfield and a few others that I eventually found homes for. Garfield and Snowflake stayed with use.  Snow flake died in April 2016 at the age of 13 from Sinus Tumors , he'd gone blind and then shortly after passed away in my arms.  He'd been to the vet just a few wks prior and was put on antibotics and put in a breathing tent with meds using a nebulizer.  They had said if the problem returned it was 99.9% sure it was tumors . He was a Flame Point Siamese.

Garfield is 13  yrs old and he is ornage, tabby. Like Snwflake, his tail was broken and crooked from the abuse by kids in the trailer park. He is very loveable and he will "hug you if you're holding him. He is a very loveable kitty.

Brat is 9 yrs old or almost 10 yrs, I got her on july 3rd,2009 . It was 110 degrees and someone had just tossed her out of a moving car like she was trash :(  Her shoulder was dislocated and she was suffering from extreme heat -I wasn't expecting her to survive but she did and she lives up to her name. lol.

Kali is about 4 years old, neighbor found her in the engine of our truck-which is odd cause we've never had that problem...but Neal feel in love with her.

Kessy-was about 12 yrs old when she died of cancer. She was more Neal's cat than mine - she was born with 3 legs and could get around just as well as one with  4 legs.

Rascal is a Stray , too loveable to be a feral. We brought him and Mystic into our home in Sept. We're in process of getting them altered as all our cats are spayed/neutered. Rascal has been neutered. His age is unknown but guessing about 2-3 years old. He is a beauty for sure. He perfers to drink from a faucet - guessing this is how he drank when he was roaming outside. We're trying to teach him to use a bowl instead.Maybe by next year he'll learn LOL.

Mystic is another stray but I kinda suspect Feral too, she doesn't like being held at all but we're working on that part. Well I am any ways lol. She will sit briefly on my lap where as before she'd not come close.  But she has adapted to being a domesticated house cat. Because I refused to abort kittens, I know not good but still... I wanted to make sure she wasn't pregnant  as Rascal wasn't neutered til Oct 11th and we had them in the house by Sept 21st. She isn't so she'll be scheduled to be spayed after Christmas. Her age is also unknown, but guessing about 3 yrs of age. She has had 1 litter , one litter the idiot neighbor behind us allowed his grandson to take 2 kittens away when they were not even 2 wks of age and the other baby got ran over :(. She was pregnant again in August but people let their dogs out and those dogs don't know the meaning of NOT RUN, and she was with me and those dogs came full blast  running over her and me both... she wasn't due to litter til Early Oct and she lost the litter. But since Rascal didn't get neutered til Oct 11th, I wanted to make sure she wasn't pregnant again and turns out she isn't so spay is gonna be next in line.

She is very loveable and loves me to pieces, she thinks it is her job to lay at my feet and keep the other cats away lol.

DJ (Diamond Jack) is a feral. although because I feed him , talk to him, pet him , he's grown to be close to me.Anyone else - he runs .  Because of our Cold front - artic and it got colder than what we in Oklahoma are used to -   like 9 degrees with -10 windchill sort of temps.. I managed to get DJ into the house and into my PC room. First nite he stayed in a carrier  and then I let him loose in my PC room. He's doing okay but hes' getting restless as he's un-accustomed to being a house cat.   He has been neutered and his left ear was clipped  so guessing that was a while back and age is unknown . He will be returned to the outside as soon as I'm sure no more below freezing temps are heading our way. Next winter I plan to have him a place to escape the cold and be warm.

I take care of those that God sends my way...  hope he gives me a break lol, we' go broke feeding the strays/ferals (Joking).

I'm Cloud and I'm 54 years old , disabled and can't work :(  My husband, Neal is a cashier at walmart.

I love all animals but the rescues are to me, the best cats to have.

Welcome Cloud,

You certainly have your hands full.  Honestly, I need to go back and reread your post. LOL  There are so many angels to read about.  I'm loving all their stories and hope you post some pictures of your furball family as well.

I look forward to hearing more about your family. haha

I think you'll find this site to be somewhat addicting, especially the threads Show Me Your Eyes, and Post Your Sleeping Beauties!!!  you can spend hours looking at all the cute pictures of cats of the TCS Family.

What's best to is there is a mega supply of information if needed and most of all, this is a very supportive community, and I know this first hand, as I found this site because my girl Chestnut had crystals last January, and then my boy Simon a couple of weeks later was diagnosed with cancer.  Unfortunately, Simon passed in June and Chestnut just passed on the 8th.  Not how I expected this year to start or end.  I tell you honestly, I could not have gotten through this year without the support from the members on this site.  Priceless is the word.

I have no doubt that you'll enjoy TCS and the members.

Warmest regards to you, Neal and your furry family.

Hope

ps.  We love pictures... lol fair warning...

They do keep me busy, Rascal will snuggle, he sleeps with me at nite and if I nap during the day, he is also my alarm clock, if he thinks I've slept too long, he gets in my ear and mews or if that doesn't wake me up.. he'll frizz my hair lol - and with my hair being very short.. it wakes me usually lol.  I found this site, by accident so it was a nice accident to stumble across. Forgot what I was looking up but will defintely spent time here.
