Welcome to TCS Maidaina. Did your vet say anything else? Are you expecting any other test results? Sure wish you both the best of outcomes.

They can drain the fluid to give temporary relief but FIP is diagnosed by symptoms, there is no test. If the vet is confident that its FIP then the only merciful thing to do is put you poor baby to sleep.  The coronavirus test is not a test for FIP but for a common virus that in rare instances changes into FIP.  You need the coronavirus to get fip, but most cats with it don't get the disease.  Fluid in the abdomen is a major symptom of FIP however and there are tests that can be done on the fluid that can help confirm a diagnosis. I'm so sorry.

It would seem so. Large amounts of fluid in the abdomen with lethargy are classic signs of fip. It sounds like your vet is making a reasonable diagnosis. And if testing of the fluid also indicated fip then I don't think there is enough doubt left to do anything but put your sweet cat down. There is no treatment and no cure. Only suffering. I'm so sorry.
