Hi guys, i have a female cat who's suppose to deliver on the 22nd of dec however so far there's no sign of labor yet. But for the past two days she's been having this minimal brownish discharge from her vagina. No foul smelling but more like urine smell. Should i be worried or its normal?

Hi,

I'm new here myself but from what I've read here so far, it sounds like it's her mucous plug that is coming out in preparation for the birth. If it were to turn greenish or pus colored then that might signal infection and you should get her to a vet. But what you've described and judging from the photo, it looks like normal signs of impending labor to me, but I am no expert. I'm dealing with a pregnant cat myself and a stray at that, so have no idea when she will give birth...sigh

If you have any more questions don't hesitate to ask, and good luck with the birth of your kittens.

It does look like she may be losing her mucus plug. How is she doing? Labor can start anytime now.

Still no signs of labor. Been keeping a close eye on her. Should i be worried if the labor do not start any tme soon? When should i bring her to the vet?

That does look like the mucous plug. You want to take her to where her best is and get everyone to go to another part of the house. Grab a good book and sit down next to the nest and relax.

The mucus plug is sometimes lost several days before labor starts. How many days along is she?

Just got back from the vet, they said i just need to give it more time till monday, if there is still no signs of labor i need to bring her to the vet again for an induction of labor.

As for now, since coming back from the vet she seems to be quite vocal around me and been tailing me around the house, she also havent been touching her food, so i guess its near? Im so nervous and excited at the same time! Haha. She's sleeping right now.

I think she sounds very close, and will not need inducing. Patience is key here![emoji]128571[/emoji]
