Genetics or old injury?

This is my 6 month old kitten, Amira. When I originally found her I noticed a blue speck next to her pupil. With her being a stray (and me never owning a cat before) I assumed it could have been a scratch from another cat and in time it will heal and go away. Well, as you can see, it didn't.

Could it be scar tissue from an old injury to the eye? Or is it just some genetic trait of unique sorts?

Ditto that.  Also, I can't really see it
Which eye is it in?  If it's the left eye, I'm seeing what looks like a reflection...wouldn't call that a speck!  Is that what you're talking about?

hmmm, I am not sure.  What did the vet say?
Well when I had taken her to the vet last time I was so sure I knew what it was, I didn't ask. But now it's been some time and it is still there.

while its not common, even some humans have a speck of different color in their eyes, so I am guessing you just have a unique cat. :)

While it is difficult to diagnose positively from a photograph, on enlargement of the second picture it has many of the the appearances of an old corneal scar.   However I am a human doctor, not a vet, and my opinion should be checked by your veterinarian.

With all  best wishes,

Geoffrey
