Hi there everyone,I'm new to the site and was wondering about after care for my cat Baydah, she was spayed today and her kittens were 7 weeks old on Sunday past, the vet said to keep her away from her kittens for 48 hours incase they pulled at her stitches or bit them out, the thing is she is ok about the separation now as she is still feeling the effects of the anesthetic but once that wears of im worried she will freak out as she never leaves them for longer that an hour at a time and even when she does she always stays close and keeps a watchful eye on them I'm guessing its due to her being partially deaf, does anyone have any tips or advice on what to do if she freaks out and do you think if she starts freaking out would it be ok of I let her see her babies under strict supervision just to calm her, I no it may sound silly me asking before anything has happened but I don't want to be I'll prepared thanks ever so much for reading this and I hope you all have a wonderful weekend x

Welcome to TCS!   Baydah is a great name - you don't have any pictures of her and her kittens do you?  We'd love to see them!   To answer your question, I don't see a problem with letting her see her kittens under strict supervision as you've suggested.  It might be important to have someone to help you, depending on how many kittens there are and how insistent everyone is to be together again.   Baydah sounds like such a devoted mama - I bet she's really sweet with her little ones.

You need to post a Cuteness Alert before posting pictures of Smudge.
What an adorable little kitten!   I'm glad to hear that everything is working out well with Baydah. It sounds like you're handling things just right.  She really loves that little kitten, doesn't she?  That's such a sweet picture of her nursing him.  She's so pretty, too.

Awww thanks they definitely make it all worth it,it can be hard going from two cats to five but the main issue now is making sure they are going to be good additions to there new families they are all toilet trained apart from 1 and it's very disgusting but it's poops that Robert keeps doing outside the box, thankfully Baydah is healing fast and can be with the kittens again, she was so sad when we had to separate them but now she is a happy kitty again, we are keeping Robert but Fernando and smudge have forever homes with two of my close friend who both have a lot of land around there homes so they should be very happy and the beat bit is that we can watch them grow up
