My young cat Max lives outside on our farm and recently started holding one of his hind legs up. My dad noticed it yesterday and I saw him today. Other than this he seems like his normal self and is eating and actually moving pretty well. Any thoughts on what it could be?

I am a human doctor, not a vet but it is likely to be any number of things, including an infection, a muscle sprain or a fracture.  It is not something that you should try to treat yourself, it may need an X-Ray and the best advice that I can give you is to take Max to your vet as soon as you can.

With all best wishes,

Geoffrey
