Say Hello to MAxx

Anyone that knows me knows i lost my baby JAxx .. MAxx is coming home with me to help me with the hole in my heart .. he was sent to me.. (losing the pink collar) I have so many mixed feelings.. do i change my avatar.. that alone makes me tear at the thought.. Im ready to try again.. I need him as much as he needs me.. 

I think you should.  You have honored Jaxx well and I know you will carry him in your heart!  But now you need to let Maxx into your heart and life, especially if Jaxx had a hand in sending him to you, he wants Mamma to be happy.

awwww......your Maxx is a very handsome boy!!!

first, i'm sending you some  's......    my little Snick    crossed the Rainbow Bridge just over one year ago. i still miss her very much, and i know that she would want me and our Jaspurr to continue on......and to give a cat(s) in a shelter/rescue the loving home that she enjoyed. jaspurr and i did adopt two little girls in january. our jaspurr seemed to need the companionship of another cat(s) in our home -- my original thought was to wait until at least late spring/early summer to start looking for a good match for jaspurr. jaspurr absolutely adores the girls, and they both love him very dearly -- they're very happy together.

if you look at my avatar, that's a pic of my little Snick. i'm not even thinking of changing my avatar. my Snick had many toys, and she had her favorite ones too. over time, i've felt comfortable sharing some of her toys with jaspurr and the girls, but not the one special toy that she loved and enjoyed the most. i think that when you're feeling ready to, you'll change your avatar -- if you decide you want to. there's no specific time frame for these things, it's just when you feel ready and if/when you decide you want to.

I wouldn't change your avatar, you'll know if you ever need to. I' so happy for you and MAxx, he will bring happiness to a home and a heart that so desperately needs it. Let him distract you from your grief, he will teach you to open your heart again and find love. You will never duplicate JAxx's love, each one is as as unique and as precious as a diamond. MAxx will forge his own bond with you and intertwine it with the one you miss so much. Jaxx is honored that you are passing on his legacy of love that he left with you. Know that he is near by, his path will always parallel yours until they cross one more.  

Your new little one is such a handsome boy! He will bring so much to your life, I know he is so very grateful to be picked  to share your life. You have two angels now, one in your heart and one in your home!

I could not agree more with what each one has said above.  Welcome beautiful boy, Maxx.  Life is a circle, to love and give Maxx a loving home is your part in the circle of life, to keep it going, thriving.  You obviously have much, much more love and caring in you.  What a wonderful way to show it through embracing a new kitty into your life.  Honestly, I cannot think of a better way to honor the never to be forgotten, Jaxx.   Jaxx is smiling down on you!!

Reading this made my heart burst with happiness for you lily paddy . MAxx is so adorable and so lucky to have you to watch over and love him. I'm so glad you are ready to open your heart to a little one who needs you. JAxx knew to send him to you. He knew you both needed each other. Right now he is purring happily knowing that you and MAxx have each other.
As for changing your avatar...please don't even think about it now. If there is a time in the future that you feel you want to change it, then change it. You don't ever have to change it, if it doesn't feel right to you [emoji]10084[/emoji]️

I so appreciate this forum and you for helping me thru this  .. i am feeling horrible and wonderful at the same time. i feel like i am doing a disservice to JAxx and his memories by loving and having such fun with my new MAxx.. MAxx just showed me how sick my JAxx must have been the whole time i had him as he never ever did the things i am experiencing with this frisky boy.. i catch my self calling him my good boy..and then i think i called my JAxx that and then i feel bad.. he was playing with my hair... and i started crying.. that was mine and JAXX thing.. he would lick my hair.. touch my face.. and kiss and lick my chin..  followed by a tiny love bite.. Its as journey of laughter and tears ... 

!What a beautiful boy! I envy you I wished I was ready to let one in my heart. But he is so handsome just let him into your heart,. Bless you and Merry Christmas. Maxx is the lucky one

Give it time, with  each and every passing day, you will feel stronger and better.  Life is good, look at what you are blessed with now!!

Its a Buffalo Bills Collar.. hope he doesn't hold it against me.. hahah Thank you Mazie.. He is my Maximus Lazarus .. or MAxx.. 

On second look, that collar is VERY becoming on him.  What a cutie!!  Enjoy the holidays with your new boy!!  I know you will.  Many congrats!!

You are still grieving. It's only normal that the arrival of MAxx would be bittersweet. Loving and smiling with MAxx around is NOT a betrayal of JAxx's memory. I'm confident JAxx would've wanted you to love and laugh again as well as share your love and life with a new little one. I think that giving MAxx a wonderful home and life is one of the best ways to honor your JAxx. JAxx is watching and is so proud of you [emoji]10084[/emoji]️

Welcome MAxx!  It's wonderful that you have opened your heart and your home to carry on the tradition of love and care -- so many posters are in agreement with this, I guess I'm just sort of repeating their thoughts, but wanted to say that I have always believed it to be the greatest tribute to a beloved one who has gone on ahead, to share the love, caring, and safety you have given to them, to someone else who is in need and who deserves it so much.  There is no "replacing" any loved one.  But hopefully we don't stop loving when we lose someone for a time.  I truly believe that all of my loved ones up there watching are happiest when I share what I have, emotionally and physically, with someone else who is in need.

​Hi, I lost my Desmond in Nov. I was heartbroken , devastated, you name it. I still am and I also brought home a new cat , his name is Jack. Just go with your feelings. I got Jack so soon after Desmond died, I wasn't looking for a cat but I was so crushed that I had to fill that space. Having Jack is wonderful, he is not Desi and so I still grieve Desi while I am delighted by Jack. If you don't want to change your avatar , don't. We all go through these things in our own way ,just enjoy MaXx
