My Tonkinese Can't Poop!!

My beautiful 15 year old Tonkinese has had digestion issues for a long time and is on Royal Canin Fiber Response exclusively. It breaks my heart to hear her groan in the litter box while trying to poop, only to end up walking away and doing her business somewhere else in the house. I've tried the laxative that my vet suggested but I can't get it into her mouth. Is there something that someone has had success with that you can suggest for this? I was thinking of something that I can disguise in peanut butter or a piece of ham (which she loves). Any help would be much appreciated.

Ask the vet about using Miralax. Many people here use Miralax or the generic equivalent to help their cats with constipation. Miralax is an OTC laxative for Humans so you buy it at any pharmacy. A cat dose is obviously going to be much much smaller than a Human dose so your vet will have to tell you the proper amount to give your cat and how often. You mix the Miralax into some water to dissolve it and then mix some canned food into it and give it to your cat to eat. Cats don't notice the Miralax at all.

You can also try canned 100% pumpkin puree. Any grocery store will have canned pumpkin puree.
