least phosphorous but still a decent brand? kitty has liver issues currently feeding wet performatrin ultra cause its about 10 percent protein and he does well on it!

but long term i want to use a good brand like ultra, orijen or like acana/merrick (basically nothing grocery store brand like SD or Royal Canin i like my gran free foods thank you :p) while also having low phosphorous so i dont do any damage to his liver long term and so I can up his protien intake safely lol he scrounges a ton more on 10 percent protein

I am not sure which brands have the least phosphorous, but I wanted to point out that Acana and Orijen are only dry food brands, and don't have wet food as far as I know. I do know that fish flavors tend to be higher in phos I believe because there is often bones in the food.

yeah fish and red meats are also higher in ammonia during digestion so he mostly gets fed chicken and Turkey!

acana and orijen are only dry as far as I know as well.
however I more wanted to use them as examples for quality because its mostly animal sourced rather than even what im currently using which does have more byproducts than them :p

I feed my girl who has a history of struvite crystals Dave's Restricted Diet. It is low magnesium and phosphorus:

https://www.chewy.com/daves-pet-foo...gclid=CJvpvrHCgNECFRdsfgodHS0GwA&gclsrc=aw.ds
thank you i'll look into it :D wellness also has a low magnesium I believe, but I think its only kibble.

edit: I def will use this if I can find another brand I can rotate it with!

it has lower protein than im using now, and its pork which my cat isnt a big fan of so its going to have to be rotated or my cat is gonna starve himself lol

I did see daves has a chicken one in the restricted diets but its 5 percent protein and even the ld/kd the vets push has 10 percent I believe :0 (they change it all the time though and the royal cannin one is 8 at most)

Weruva is low phosphorus, overall, the canned Steak Frites is among the lowest. Their web site has nutritional analysis info, for phosphorus check under their list of foods on a dry matter basis and / or their chart for cats with kidney disease as cats with kidney issues also require lower phos diets.

L lisamarie12 thank you love that weruva has a huge nutrition info page :D im gonna use these, weruva is really popular so idk why I never thought about looking into them before.

the protein is all within my cats safe range below 20 and above 9. and phos and sodium is all below .5 at least for wet foods
so next is see how he does on weruva

I have been using all the online resources for CKD cats for a few years and reading forums for phosphorus levels in wet food for my cat Goat. I just got these levels from the actual companies this week Jan 16th 2017 and wanted to share as some of the info I have found doesn't match.

Natures Variety Instinct. All have 78% Moisture.  I have seen chicken advertised as low but it actually isn't. I stick with the Rabbit and Venison. Goat doesn't get salmon as she throws up but also is low.
INSTINCT CANS PHOSPHORUS As FedMoistureTotal
Chicken0.38%0.221.727273
Beef0.34%0.221.545455
Duck0.40%0.221.818182
Lamb0.40%0.221.818182
Rabbit0.20%0.220.909091
Venison0.20%0.220.909091
Salmon0.20%0.220.909091
Nulo Also the two flavors I requested were not low enough, even though she loved them.

FreeStyle & MedalSeries Beef & Lamb Recipe:

Moisture: 73.03%

Phosphorus:  0.38%

FreStyle & MedalSeries Duck & Tuna Recipe:

Moisture: 74.26%

Phosphorus: 0.40%

I checked the Merrick Purrfect Bistro out since all I see on the food tables as low is the before grain which is discontinued and again, it isn't low enough for me to be comfortable giving it to her.

Right now she gets Nutro Max Chicken Supreme and Nutro Max duck chunks. She never liked anything that isn't pate but she loves those. I do use the can and chop the chunks into smaller pieces. I add some chicken broth, lowest sodium possible (I make it at home in crock pot as often as I can) to give her additional moisture. Her and her sister eat Halo grain free chicken spots stew dry food which Tanyas says is one of the lowest non-prescription. They both love it so I got lucky there. If they wouldn't get so mad I would just feed wet but they have to have their kibble as well. I have tried so many of the low phosphorus brands and my boyfriend said to me the other day, what are we running a cat food store, but she doesn't like them so well. The BFF /Weruva line has some nice choices but Goat doesn't like them so I will be making a nice donation to the animal shelter soon. I will keep e-mailing manufactures and trying to get the latest info for any food she gobbles up. Seems she loves the ones that are not good for her the best. When I find one she likes, like the nutro max, I buy it in cases and keep a rotation of the good for her stuff and trying some new ones here and there to keep as much variety as possible. I am waiting for an e-mail back from natures recipe for a couple of the pate's she likes, they seem like a huge company when I clicked contact us so I am not sure if I will hear back. It isn't hard to e-mail the manufactures, I never really wanted to and just used all the food tables I found online but I figured I should probably double check some of her favorites in my quest to find the lowest phosphorus I could find. Hope this helps someone.

guindle guindle those numbers are good to know ive been meaning to print out the list soon so ill keep your updated numbers for that!

I wish I could try the halo line, its hard/impossible to get in canada as far as I know along with a few other brands

I noticed even if the fish based cans are low in phosphorus and salt mew gets sick, so he only gets chicken and turkey cans with other non-fish meats here and there

I don't know if you have access to the Wellness brand of cat food there, I see it is mentioned up above. I asked them for a few of them Goat likes and they sent me the whole list. The divine duos are really low and some others are decent. I tried to bold the lower ones. Goat doesn't care for the divine duos but they are really low so I may try a few again just in case she changed her mind.
