(hoping this is in a decent spot on the forums for this i would have it in behavior but its not really an issue more a topic on conversation?)

not a problem or question per say lol
more like how do your kitties (or other critters) react to human emotions :)

mr mew tries to make me play with him if i'm sad, he pounces on me, kneads my clothes or blanket, licks my face and hands and he eventually chews/pulls on my hair anything to make me stop freaking him out with the onslaught of sads but mostly playfully since thats how he initiates play with the other cat in the house, the strange beast he is.

my other kitty doesnt really react to emotions of the people near him more body language

I can relate lots of stories of our cats reacting to my wife's and my emotions. However, one story really stands out because it ended up making me rethink a few aspect of my life.

We walk Makena nearly every day to get rid of his excess "Bengal energy" A few years ago I wanted to take Makena out for a quick walk because I had a busy day ahead. There was a phone conference in the afternoon that I was very stressed over, a nutty and irate client I had to get calmed down, a few hours of records review I had to do with a partner who should have been able to do it himself. I was feeling very pressed and stressed. It was a beautiful day for a walk and I rushed Makena into his harness and out the door. Makena went about twenty feet and sat down, refusing to move. I tugged his leash a bit and encouraged him to get moving. Makena did something I have only heard a few times; he let out a long low growl that sent a chill down my spine. I looked at him; he sat calmly staring at me. His fur was not raised, his ears were not back. I stopped and thought about things for a minute. I pulled out my phone and cancelled the phone conference. Texted the wacky client and ended the relationship. I texted the partner and told him to do the work by himself, I would not be available. I let out a sigh of relief, Makena got up and trotted towards the woods with a happy bounce in his step.

Makena and I had a lovely walk that lasted all morning.

Makena had drawn a very strong line that he would not cross. A little reflection on my part yielded a bit of a lesson.

......strange beast...
Yep, "strange beasts" indeed.
