I am writing this amazing true story on behalf of Chris Arsenault
who is the founder of a Happy Cat Sanctuary that saves the
homeless healthy, ferals, feline aids, disabled and more.
A bit about Chris: Chris has dedicated his life to the rescue and
care of hundreds of cats (currently has 300). Chris started rescuing
in 2006 after his 24 year old son Eric lost his life in a tragic accident
when the throttle on his motorcycle stuck. After this devastating loss,
Chris accidentally came across a colony of 30 sick kittens. He removed
the kittens from the colony and nursed them back to health. It was at
this point that Chris knew saving cats was his calling and he opened
Happy Cat Sanctuary which is run at his home all renovated to make
all these 300 cats happy while there waiting for adoption and yes
lets not forget all the loyal dedicated volunteers who help to run this
nonprofit no kill sanctuary.
About Happy Cat Sanctuary: Happy Cat Sanctuary is a 501(c)3
nonprofit on Long Island, NY. Our mission is to save the lives of
cats and ensure they are provided with the quality of life every
cat deserves including access to medical care, proper nutrition,
adequate shelter and the freedom /safety to live without fear of sickness,
neglect or abuse.
Happy Cat rescues cats that have no place else to go including cats
that have been victims of hoarding situations, shot at, targeted by gangs
for use as bait in dog fighting rings, blind cats, cats with Fiv (feline aids),
and cats of abusive and neglected owners. Over 300 cats reside
at the sanctuary which is composed of indoor and outdoor shelters and
areas to roam, scratch, lounge and climb. All cats are neutered, spayed,
have access to vet care and are regularly brushed and given lots of love
and attention. Cats are available for adoption to make space.
In closing: Why I want to wake up every morning: My two stray rescues
Tuxedo and Baby Brucie. Yes, able to get some much needed sleep.
Tuxedo no longer wakes me up at 4 AM to go outdoors. He is 100%
reformed indoor kitty with his buddy Baby Brucie.
Life Can Be So Short, But You Have A Calling, You Can Pick Up The
Pieces And Move Forward In A Positive Productive Way
RIP Eric we all love and miss you.
