Today is the second day of him being gone. I haven't seen any sign of him, and his litter mates are starting to look for him. They cry out for him. I think that if he passed away, that something must have eaten him, because he couldn't get out of the barn, unless someone let him out. I hope that maybe he just got lost, but I think that he passed. Tomorrow we are getting more moist cat food for the other two so that they make it.

This is sad. You did what you could. It's good that you will continue to help the other two kittens. Winter can be difficult for the kittens. Keep us posted.

Merry Christmas everyone! :) Still no sign of the little guy, so I am going to assume the worst. I don't think that he made it.

Everyone, the little one did not make it. I found his little body in the snow. One of the other litter mates also passed today, leaving one left. My step-dad is finally allowing the last kitten to live in the garage. She will have a little bed, and I hope that she will make it. She has been eating moist cat food, so I hope that she makes it. R.I.P Riley and Sammy.

Aww, I'm so sorry [emoji]128533[/emoji]. I think the cold was too much for the kittens. It's good the last one can stay in the garage. I hope she makes it too! Can you post a picture of her for us?

She seems to be a point of some sort.  Was she always that dark on body, or exactly when did she darkened?

The do darken up on body when its cold, but I wonder if she would darken up anyways...

Pity about the other two whom perished.... RIP little ones...

She always had a darker face, and she is darker along her spine area. Her tail is also darker.

I think that there is something wrong with her eyes. Her inner eyelid is red and a little puffy. Her eyes are also watering quite a bit. Does anyone know what is the matter and how I could help her. My parents won't spend money on medication, so is there anything that I could do at home?

Kittens often get eye problems. It could be a sign that she is starting to get a cold or it could be something more serious. Without actually seeing the kitten it is impossible to say. Even a qualified vet wouldn't be able to make a diagnoses over the internet, so you really need to get her checked over by a vet soon.

Eye problems can be treated quite easily with eye drops or cream if caught in time, but if left untreated she could go blind.

I understand that your parents don't want to spend money on a vet, but she is going to need proper medical care. If not now then in the future. She will need to be spayed and vaccinated before too long.

If you think that this will be difficult for you to do wouldn't it be better to hand the kitten over to a shelter? I know that you're attached to her, but caring for a cat long term can be very expensive.

Thanks for your help, but I think that now since she has been eating better and been in the heated garage, she has been getting better. She is sitting in the living room with me watching the Hobbit. I have a feeling that she might become at least a particle house cat. During the days when it is warm, she is outside, but when it is cold she is right in the garage. Would there be anything at a place like Petmeds or petco or something like that.

Yes, do you need help finding a low cost clinic in your area?  She does really need to see a vet for the eye, and for vaccines and spaying.  Litters of kittens are far more expensive than taking care of one cat.  You will also be preventing future (expensive) health issues, all while making her a happier cat.

I know that I would like her to get all of those things, but unless she was a full house cat, my parents would never pay more than 50 cents on a cat. I have been purchasing all of her moist cat food out of my pocket. I even bought another can of kitten milk replacer. I only have about 30 dollars left, and have to go to collage in a few years.

Then I have to echo what @Norachan  has said.  This cat will require medical attention in her life.  If that's not something you are able to provide, despite all of your very best efforts, it might be kindest to rehome her.

Thank you for the information, but they are all for people who have jobs and do not make enough money to support themselves. My parents make enough money to go to a vet, but they choose not to. Thank you though.

Also, I looked at the different counties, and the only counties that are open to anyone are at least a good 2-3 hours away. Thank you though. I will check out a place like petsmart or something along those lines.
