Hi everyone!

yesterday one of my cat died and i dont know the real reason. i have two of her siblings and one of them doesnt seem ok today. yesterday night when she died he starts shouting and was restless....In morning he ate very little and since then he hasn't eaten anything. though he was very active whole day but when in the evening i put food in front of him he doesn't like it. he didnt vomit anything but it seems like that the smell of food makes him uncomfortable. He is one of the naughtiest cat i have but since morning he seems to be very sad. Is this his reaction? or should i take him to vet...uggh i hate the vet in my town....

Again i'm so sorry about your loss.  It's possible he is sad, but more likely i would guess is something may be wrong.  Do you know how to take a cats temperature?  Do you know how to check his hydration (fluid level, hydrated or dehydrated)?  Do you know how to syringe feed if he won't eat?  I can provide you with youtube links for all of those things if you wish.  I know you hate your vet, so sorry.

For people coming to this thread, the OP lives in Pakistan and vet care is sub standard.

please provide me youtube link. I know how to check the temperature. i usually check the hydration level by slightly pulling cat skin and if it is going back and not becoming a V shape then it means the cat is hydrated. i dont know why i am not good with syringe feeding. can u share links

the vet care isnt only sub standard but vet here arn't educated. they all prescribe medicine on the basis of their experience. Moreover, here ppl have livestock and cattle and these vets are more expert in such animals.

Up to two days of yowling and refusing food could be a sign of mourning in a cat that was close to the one that died. but longer than that can be bad on your cat's liver and health. Try to tempt him with special foods he especially likes, offer water often. Something like tuna juice or broth could help with both problems. Make sure you are holding him and comforting him, he will help you too with your own grieving. I pray there isn't a disease or illness going around, you might check with a local vet to see.I'll pray for you both, take care.....

guys i need some info on respiratory track infections and any medicine for worms. i heard about vinegar solution that is very good for cat. I read on some forum that once a week a dilute solution of vinegar is good.

My cats love food such as butter, cheese, bread dip in tea, boiled meat and broth.

I'm so sorry for your loss. Are you feeding them normal cat food at all? I'm wondering if there are some deficiencies

Many respiratory infections are caused by the herpes virus. L-lysine is given to keep the virus from replicating. I get mine on Amazon as treats and they have an immune support supplement too. which wouldn't hurt. I get my worm medicine there too, almost all cats have worms that get outside, I make sure I get one that kills multiple types of worms, including tape worm. You can get those on PetMeds or Dr. Smiths too, they need a vets OK, but I have never had a problem with that, just have your vets info handy. I have heard of that vinegar thing. Tried it, and never had much luck with it. I ended up getting an antibiotic, that finally cleared things up. I get tahat over the counter from my vet, my cat would be too traumatized to bring in.

I hope your cat is better. Those shots sound terrible. Poor kitty! I am finger feeding my sick cat this canned food: Nutro Kitten Chicken Pate. It is nutritious and juicy. Order it from Amazon.
