Good morning!

It’s been a hectic week here for me and my cats! We’ve had contractors here doing some home improvements.

For today’s Question of the Day, let’s talk about places we’ve been to that we really liked!

What are some of your favorite places — where you’ve lived, you’ve visited, or where you’ve vacationed?     (Can also be places you’ve read about that you’d like to visit or move to)

I’ll start!

I think my favorite area is the agricultural area that lies between Los Angeles, CA and San Fransisco, CA. I also very much like San Louis Obispo, CA. I lived in LA for several years, and have visited San Fransisco a few times. I visited San Louis Obispo once.

Another area that I really like is the Canadian Rockies. They’re just beautiful! I traveled through them by car many years ago.

How about you?

Lived: Above and beyond all else, NYC. I lived with a friend near Central Park for about a year and then moved into my own apartment near Grand Central Station. I lived there for about 10 fantastic years. Then, moved to Battery Park City for a couple of years.  I'm a native NY'er (born in Brooklyn) and being able to live in the city proper as a young adult was truly wonderful.

I've traveled a fair amount, although not as much as I'd like to have by now.  A few of my favorite places that I have exceptional memories due to either scenery or the vibe of the place include New Orleans, Bermuda, Sonoma/Napa areas, Barcelona, and Las Vegas environs.  I loved San Francisco also - it's one of the other major cities I've been to where I would have been quite happy to call home.

I think the most amazing experience so far was at Montserrat in Barcelona. You take a funicular up the mountain to a Benedictine Monastery.  How it was built is beyond me, it's so high up!  It was an extremely dramatic place to visit, both visually and historically.

I love Vancouver, the mountains and the sea are a difficult combination to beat. I did seriously think of moving there awhile ago and even went as far as getting the forms but my partner found a great job and we decided to stay.

I would love to live in England for a couple of years, perhaps with Oxford as my base? I'd love to have the time to visit the counties and see everything.

Amsterdam is another beautiful city but all the people riding their bicycles on the footpaths terrify me.

I lived in Tacoma Washington for 2 years.  I would say  that was my favorite place.  Close to the ocean and the Cascade Mountains.  Mild climate but still have seasons.  People complain about it raining a lot but I only noticed it in the  Spring.  I was only there two years though, maybe those years were drier than normal.

I am originally from Southern California (born and raised) and where as I liked the weather there I have really come to love where I live now here in BC Canada . So much so I would never think of leaving southern BC to move back to the United States . I do have to say though it is extremely expensive to live up here and if I could change one thing about this area is that it was a little bit more affordable .

I live in Monterey CA which is beautiful itself, but I also really love the SLO area.  I've needed to drive down there a couple of times lately and it's so green and beautiful right now.

My childhood dream was to live in New York City. I spent 10 wonderful years in Manhattan, but unfortunately ended up in Connecticut. :( New York City is still my favorite place on earth.

We took a two week trip across the US in 1990. I would love to do that again. Washington and Wyoming were so scenic.

I love midcoast Maine. Like Belfast area and north. It's less crowded than Wells/Kittery. And lots of open land and hills to climb. The air is cleaner and just more peaceful for me. Swanville is a small town I really like. It's in the middle of nowhere but has a nice lake on it.
