Hello all-do not have much time but long story short my cat was scripted Metronidazole via liquid/syringe administration. They said it would be tough but between him fighting and spitting it's near impossible. I see they make a pill form? Why would of the vet of not given that?

Also scripted Proviable-forte via capsule. Suggested sprinkling on the wet food they also gave (low residue wet and dry), but so far he wont eat the wet so far. Any suggestions?

Thanks

They do make a compounded form that can be rubbed right in his ear.  That, in my opinion,

is the easiest way to give meds to a cat with the liquid the second easiest.

There's a pill form, but it's very bitter and thus probably harder to administer than liquid. What I've found works best with the shelter cats is to cut up the pill(s), put the pieces in a chicken-flavored gelatine capsule (available online, for example on Amazon), then smear the capsule with liverwurst or cream cheese and feed it as a treat. Some are crazy about the capsules and don't need the library. In a pinch you can put the capsule directly in the cat's mouth. That doesn't work with just the pill most of the time.
