@Ondine    will do

And want to publicly thank you once again, your support (both moral and informational) has offered encouragement in this new to me experience. Somewhat an emotional roller coaster, in a sense. I'm so glad he's healthy.

With your contributions....YOUR help...Bug will be a better kitty for it.

Goin' downstairs to have a talk with the Bug right now.

@Tabby Tom

I call that a lampshade!

No Bug doesn't have....and I'm not about to try and give him one either! About now...he'd rip my eyeballs out!

And a public thank you to you as well...you've stuck with me and contributed positive, useful, practical information since my first post on the Bug.

Thank YOU as well, sir!

But we know its not over by a long shot.....to be continued

My boy kicked it off as soon as he reached home and he did the same when he was neutered I did not put it on again for him.

There's no need to thank me. I'm just doing what I can and sharing what I know for the welfare of Bug and giving you support. It's not easy doing this alone. Well, this is what Catsite is for.
We are happy to help and even more happy that throughout the whole process till now was a success.

Don't worry, in a few days time, things will be back to normal and should be better than normal. In fact we want to thank you for taking up this task. You sure gave Bug a good chance of having a warm and loving home which every cat should have and be in.

Do keep us in the loop and man, let the purring begin! ;)

^ forgiven

Bug has been in hiding since return at 6pm yesterday....I know it was all in his best interests, he'll come around soon...but i feel like a heel anyways.

Sat, talked with him last night...again this morning....he's tucked away behind a wall of bass amps/speakers.

Right back to our normal schedule, I brought fresh can food in with me this morning....a bowl next to his dish of dry (untouched) now served on a mat instead of inside a crate!

I think he'll like that once he "comes out"....the NEW Bug.

Just received Feliway spray bottle (got the plug in on the way)   To aid in de-stressing his majesty...should I simply spray center of room, mid height?

It's proably that the anesthesia has not wore off yet. Just keep the normal routine and give him the best assurance.

As for the spray, just spray around the room and near where he is. Mid height is ok. Anyway, if it's the plug-in ones, it'll infuse the whole room. But I guess he should be calm enough as he is familiar with the room. It's just the whole ordeal that has taken him aback.

I spent time with him 2x last night, this morning and afternoon...plan on again this early evening.

Fully understand he's devastated and stressed....this week alone he's been both "captured" indoors then followed by vet and neuter...= kitty torture.

almost 24 hours holed up now....no water, food or L-box....should I take any action or leave him be?

At what point does one become really concerned?

When he is hungry enough, he'll eat. All these could take awhile but not too long. But I don't see as unusual. If he has not eaten food and water, there's no need to use the litter box. He should come around pretty soon but just keep the routine and leave him food and water just in case he starts eating and you are not around.

affirmative.... will do     thanks TT

one step forward...this feels like 6 back     (but I know it'll pass)

BTW...plug in Feliway arrived and installed today.

I'll be patient..regardless can't wait for transformation into a cooperative, friendly, playful, unafraid, trusting Bug.  Hey...whatever it takes.

Thinking a few months from now...he'll be integrated into the household with his family kitty buddies (Ossicat "Aslan"  and Bengal "Taz" )   Eventually enjoying the run of the house, if all goes well. Group playtime should prove "interesting" .....at the very least....even a bit WILD .....my supervision will be essential  : )

Yes, that's another hurdle he has to cross when meeting the rest of the cats. Again, you need to do a slow introduction. Once all these has passed, it'll be wonderful that he'll be able to enjoy the whole house with the company of Aslan and Taz. And roaming outdoors will not be on his mind.

I remember teasing my mother on New Year's 1999/2000.  She was positive she would not live to see the millennium.  That was 17 years ago!

So, pretty soon, Bugs will be napping, playing, eating and enjoying life with his new bros.

Kudos to you for helping him so that.

Camera activity shows Bug was eating earlier (I left some dry food for him to conveniently knosh on overnight)

I'm relieved he's up and somewhat active after holing up (no food, water or pee) for about 30 hours..  tomorrow we go back to normal feed schedule with his favorite canned food.  I'm gonna spoil the hell outta him for a couple days.

Whew....breathing a sigh of relief

Welcome back Bug!

:banana1: Looks like he's coming around. Once he's back to normal, he'll forget what you did and what hit him. Go ahead and spoil him. He deserved it!
And you, well done!

Bug still holed up, coming out only if alone. He did eat a small portion this morning (1/3 of what he formerly inhaled)

He's awake time to time, but sleeps a lot. Still a long way to go...I hope he doesn't hold a grudge.

Don't worry. Just give him time. Once every thing sort of settles down, when his mind is cleared, he'll be out as long as the routine is not changed.

Absolutely maintaining routine....I put food down for normal dinner feed @ 6PM...though he's not partaking (i kind of knew he wouldn't)

Spent time talking to him 3 times today, with pillow and blanket on floor, took a short nap too.

Camera on, set for motion....I'll know if/when he eats. On HIS timetable now.
